I've tried a couple of tips and tricks to saving money but in no way would I call myself extreme. I'm happy if I just save 30% off my bill, but if you are connected through Facebook, there's quite a few great groups to give you deals, breakdowns, links, tips and some of them actually do have meetings for info.

The best one I found is someone in AZ. (Cents'Able Shoppin!). I like quite a few more for tips for saving, free items, coupons, giveaways, etc. Some to list...
Freebies 4 Mom, Hip2Save, Deal Wise Mommy

Good luck! Hope that helps a bit.

Start clipping NOW but keep in mind you won't start seeing significant savings for a few weeks. In other words, the huge extreme savings won't begin immediately, so be patient.

Clip only things you have either bought in the few weeks or currently have in your home. As time goes by, you can clip more coupons of things you want to stock up on.

Organize them. Some people organize by brand name, product type or date. You can use a coupon holder, binder of sheets w/clear pockets. I used baseball card sheets (9 pockets per sheet) but I also have a sheet of full size pockets I use for coupons that will expire in 1 week and another sheet of coupons that will expire in 2 weeks.

Use your coupons for only sale items. Never use your coupons towards anything full price if you can help it.

There are some amazing coupon sites out there...I like browsing couponcabin.com. But I only have a family of 3, no pets, and I don't like to stock up, so my grocery/household bill is probably $50/wk, which is very reasonable for me. I don't spend alot of time couponing but the time I do do it, I feel it pays off for my family just enough.

gl and have fun!

Join Coupon Sense...I did that for about a year and learned a lot. Now I just go off free sites (Coupon Sense is $15 a month) and do it on my own. Coupon Sense made it easy for me to learn as a beginner.

I'm not in your area but I do looooovvvvee to coupon. First, that show is total bunk. Don't believe what you are seeing!! I have been couponing for over a year now and routinely save around 50% on my bills at grocery stores. It is closer to 90% at drug stores. I use two websites- moneysavingmom.com and forthemommas.com. Both will introduce you to couponing and will give you daily alerts to good deals. You may need to find some blogs that are in your area that can match grocery stores.
Yes, start collecting coupon inserts from your papers. Get friends and relatives to give them to you too. Sometimes libraries will have bins where people throw their extras. Follow the blogs each week- they will tell you which sales to match with what coupons to get the absolute cheapest price.
I organize my coupons in a rubbermaid box (about 8x12). I have envelopes that are labelled with different categories (baby, cereal, make-up, dairy, etc). Each week I clip the coupons and file them in the category. Then, when a sale comes up I can just go to that category and pull the coupons.
It takes time to get good and I still make mistakes. Take it slow and just choose a few stores. I LOVE Rite Aid for free stuff. CVS is also fantastic. I stee clear of Walgreens because their coupon policy is too confusing and difficult.
Good luck!!!

I highly recommend that you check out this website:
www.thecentsableshoppin.com

The gal that puts together this website is AWESOME! She does all the work for you. (Tells you where to go and what coupons to use.) Check it out.

I am in Arizona and I coupon. I coupon so that I can be a stay at home. My first bit of advice, stop watching "Extreme Couponing', that is totally mad for tv and the stores agree not to follow their own coupon policies for this show.

Facebook is a great place to find samples and freebies, like your fav companies, a lot do facebook only promos

Do a search for coupon bloggers (there are a ton out there) they have great information (also like the blogger on facebook). I have a listing of bloggers that I read I can you send you that list if you want, just email ____@____.com you want to pay a service to provide you a listing of sales and tell you when and where to use your coupons, there is a coupon called couponsense.com (I think thats the website).
