Costco has really good pigs in a blanket (mini hot dogs in crescent rolls). They're easy to heat up and cheap. And, they also have yummy quiche.
Looking for appetizers for a crowd (about 150 people). We want things that can be made in big batches - but also that won't cost us a fortune. We already have meat & cheese, veggie and fruit tray ordered, just looking for stuff to go with it. Basically - we want simple finger types food to keep it as simple as possible. Any suggestions?

Quesadillas, cut into wedges.
Hummus, cuccumber olive pinwheels
stuffed mushrooms
broccoli onion tomato pepper quiche baked in a pyrex, cut into squares.
wings
Meatballs in bbq sauce..yum! Also, Costco and some other stores...check the adds...get the $5 18 inch pizzas and cut them into bite size squares...4-5 pizzas would do the trick!
Hummus and pita chips
White chocolate covered popcorn. Looks very pretty in a glass jar!
You can make a cheese ball. Made of cream cheese, peppers, and herbs etc easy recipe and put crackers on the side to dip with.
7 layer dip is always a hit in our family, add chips.
Deviled eggs
Pinwheels
Maybe not cheap, but these 'rye bread party pizzas' are so yummy, you can make a big batch ahead of time and freeze them and then pop them in the oven
Lil' smokies (you can make a ton in a crock pot w/bbq sauce)
7 layer dip w/chips (buy this at a wholesale bulk store like Costco. It's
pre-made).
Wraps. Premade. Big tray from Costco. They are cut in half for finger food
Chicken skewers. premade @ Costco
Chips, Pretzels in bulk go a long way
quartered hotdogs (or smokies) and or meatballs in BBQ sauce on a toothpick.
Nacho cheese sauce in a crockpot and chips on the side.
You can make one spicy and one mild. Be sure to lable them so there won't be surprises. You can open a can of jalapenos and place it in a bowl beside the cheese sauce. For 150 people you will have to refill the crock pots, but that shouldn't be too hard and won't be too expensive.
Good luck to you and yours.
This is a recipe I use a lot and its very easy:

Chips and salsa.
Cream cheese ball with crackers (look at allrecipes.com for different ones.)
Bowls of pretzels, grapes.
Chocolate covered strawberries.
when we have our annual new yeears party my aunt always does the little mini hotdogs in crescent rolls - tons of them and always has all different kinds of dip and tons of different chips/pretzels and also wings- bbq, mild & spicy
All of the suggestions below sound great just wanted to say you can never go wrong with chicken wings. Went to an engagment party last year and they had salmon cakes (they tasted like crab cakes) they were delicious. Chips and dip are good. But in my opinion it's always nice to have at least one food thats hot (warm).
If you're looking to keep costs down, then I wouldn't be ordering a veggie tray, those prices are usually outrageous.
Some ideas...
meatballs (swedish, bbq, teriaki)
stuffed mushrooms
deviled eggs
make your own chex mix
check at Costco or Bj's in the frozen section they always have a large selection
I always used Taste of Home magazines section called Food for a Crowd. If you have periodicals in your local library go find the magazine and start at the first issue then continue with just that section. There will be recipes that can be doubled or tripled. Most are for around 50 that I used, I just made more of them.
Mini spinach pie... you could proabably buy them from costco or make them at home.... it is really easy...
Spinach, Feta, S & P and Nutmeg with an egg mixed in spooned pilsbury crescent rolls whch are then folded over and baked... yummy
If you are interested send me a message and I will type send you the recipe...
