I'd love too!!! Anything by Kris RAsish would be great (i'm reading her right now...she is awesome and writes fiction about women!) Let me know ok?

I know we don't have much time to read but it would be nice to start a book club. We can read novels, or picture books. We can share which books are worth buying or just reading in the book store.
I was thinking that the new Oprah book would be nice to read and discuss, here is the title: The Road: Cormac McCarthy. I was going to suggest Family Tree by Barbara Delinsky but its hardcover and a lil'too pricy for me. I am cheap, I like to buy paperbacks but I do make an exception for Jaqueline Carey books. Well...if you would like to add a book of interest just let me know. Or if you would like to read THE ROAD, let me know...its not very thick and seems like an interesting book. Hope everyone is doing fine and enjoying this new week and month.

C.,
I would love to be in an online book group, as going places when I already do so much of that already makes it hard. I would love to do childrens books too, poetry, spiritual or uplifting books, need to keep reading. As a teacher to, we are always reading, but not necessarialy what we want to read.
L.
There is a book club group at www.cafemoms.com if your interested.
What a great idea!! I would love to be involved in an online bookclub! I like reading, but am out of the loop when it comes to trying to find good books. I go to the library, and don't even know where to start! So this would be perfect! Let me know! I don't know what you had in mind, but my hubby does website creating on the side and he could help us make a website with forums or we could just do email or whatever! Let me know how I can help! Thanks for the idea!

P.S.
I just did a quick google search and found a sight that has links to tons of free discussion boards and such. It is: FreebieList.com I went to a couple of them and they look pretty cool! Maybe that could be a resource for us too!
Hello C.!
I am all about a book club! That is a great idea, i sometimes have a hectic schedule that would make me miss regular meetings, but online works great for me. If you would like email me and i have a huge list of great book ideas (worked at barnes and noble for a few years). ____@____.com :)
thanks!

I started an in-person book club called Ants and Mums (because everyone involved is either an aunt or a mom) about ten months ago. We meet every other month. If anyone is interested in joining, let me know.
We take turns hosting. We'll be having our sixth meeting in May. We read a wide variety.
We started with *The Secret Life of Bees* by Sue Monk Kidd, then *Memoirs of a Geisha*, then *Love Medicine* by Louise Erdrich, *Naked* by David Sedaris, then *A Lantern in Her Hand* by Bess Streeter Aldrich (of Elmwood, NE). For the next meeting we are going to read a Marie Sandoz book.
We have a wide variety of ages and a wide variety of professions. (Teachers, librarians, stay-at-home moms, business women, designers, receptionist, etc.)
We have members from Omaha, Bellevue, Gretna, Louisville and Auburn, NE.
We are very relaxed and if you can make it, yeah! If not, we don't get mad at you. We just ask that you RSVP so we know whether or not to expect you.
If intestested, please contact me via private message.
How would this work. I read all the time, not just to my kids. Would all of us read the same book? Let me know how it will work and I might join.
I LOVE this idea!! I would especially like discussing adult books. Let me know when it gets started so I can join! I know yahoo or even myspace has groups, i don't know if they're free to start or anything but that would be an idea to get set up on. (I don't really like the yahoo formats as much as the myspace group formats.)
C. I would love to it would be fun
I am an avid reader and last year my new years resolution was to read 2 books a month, this year it is to read books by writer from every country, so I am very interested in starting a book club. Let me know what I can do to help get this started.

Sure I would love to try this. I have six kids and love to hear about other books beside the well-known authors.
Feel free to email me at ____@____.com
If you live near me I would love to meet at the library or bookstore.
Thanks,
A.
I would love too. are you looking more to a children’s books or something for ourselves?? I'm game either way. I go to the library weekly and usually have something. I don't really buy books because then what? But I l-O-V-E the library. Sounds great. I'm just about done with Jennifer Weiner "The Guy Not Taken" It's a bunch of short stories. Some hit and misses. But she is a good author.
Hello C.,
That would be great. I don't have alot of time to read myself, but this would be great way to meet others and to get ideas about some great books out there. Count me in and if you need any help setting it up let me know.
God Bless

Hello,
I would be interested. I get stuck on authors and would love to explore others. My e-mail is ____@____.com.
I would love to! It would get me motivated to read more often if I was going to discuss it with someone else.
How do you want to go about it?
J.
Definately interested. Thanks for bringing up the idea.
im interested-i have 3 library book clubs i go to, but am always willing to read more!
Hi, C.. I'm definitely interested--I like that we could look at children's books also. Maybe books for beginning readers, too? Just an idea. I teach eighth graders, so I'd enjoy talking to adults about "grown-up" books since I mostly read adolescent lit.

This is a great idea. I signed up to be in a book club through the Quad City Chamber Young Professionals Network that I belong to, but it's hard for me to find time to go and the books so far have not interested me. I like the idea of either children books or books for ourselves.

I would love to be in a book club. I have never been in one, but I love to read and try to fit in a few pages here and there whenever I can.
I love reading and have been going thru books like crazy lately. So count me in also.... Would be alot of fun to discuss them with another adult.
