Does anyone use the city pools in S. Tampa? We've been to the one on Mango so far. My son is 2 and we would like to go when there are other children. Are there any good organized programs for little ones at the pools? Any pools better then others?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

By the pool on Mango, I meant the pool in S. Tampa on Mango St. Which has a great kiddie pool, we'll be checking out the Interbay Pool today.

hey Crissie,

I use the public pools all the time. The first one is the Sulfur Springs pool on Nebraska Avenue near waters. It has a decent kiddie area and it is ALWAYS packed with kids. Main hours are from 9am to 6 pm for moms and tots, and weekends from 11 am-5pm. Pool is pretty clean, but does get packed! This one also has small waterslides in it for the tos and next to the changing rooms, there is a small, enclosed playground too! Cost is FREE!!

2nd pool is across from my home and is in Copeland Park basically at Fowler and 15th Street, about two blocks from University Square Mall. This pool os ratehr plain, but it is kept very clean and doesn't usually get so packed you aren't even sure there is water in the pool with all the bodies! LOL! This pool has quite a big area that gradually goes deeper and has a froggie waterslide. The pool is a left turn when you go in from the entrance (only one in/out). If you go to the right and take the turn, thre is a really nice childs play are right there and it rarely gets packed and is almost brand new. Follow the road around to the back of the park and there is a second play area with swings, but it is much older andmostly for older kids! There are shelters everywhere to picnic in as well! Weekdays, mom and tots from 9-6, weekends, Noon-5

email me anytime...I'd meet up with you at either one.

I'm actually curious about the Mango pool too. I've lived in the area (Seffner/Brandon) most of my life and know nothing about it. Thanks!

I have been to the one on Mango as well and we love it. We've had to stop because of the late afternoon thunder storms...the pool has to shut down during these times. I understand that the city offers a nominally-priced swimming program for five year-olds and up...it runs for a few weeks and the cost is around $15. When we do make it out to that pool, we're there around 4 p.m. and there's usually a few little ones splashing around. Maybe we'll see you there! :)

I'm sorry I have not used any of the city pools in S. Tampa. But, I wanted to ask about the Mango pool. I was unaware there was a city pool in Mango. Can you tell me more about the Mango pool, the location, hours, costs....? Thanks. Jennifer
