Im thinking of trying it. Looking for tips and experiences with master cleanse. Im not sure Im a candidate yet, Im still breastfeeding, but Im also thinking of doing a variation of the cleanse, but eating veg soups & broth. Also, DD isnt "dependant" on nursing so much, shr=e just drinks a little in the morning and evening. Have you tried a master cleanse? what did it do for you?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My reasons for wanting to try this, headaches that dont stop, bad sleeps, no energy & weightloss would be a huge bonus right before my wedding (3 weeks from now!). I have many food allergies, so eliminating everything & slowly adding stuff back sounds like a good idea. Ive always been healthy, but lately, I just feel zapped, tired, bitchy & the stupid headaches... something has to give!

My sister in law did it and she lost a ton of weight and has kept it off. She goes on it off and on. I just know that you have to be a very strong person to do this. And, she did it while breastfeeding. I tried it and passed out on the first day. I must have low blood sugar or something. My husband did it and said it was awful. He lost weight, but gained it all back.

I am not familiar with the Master cleanse, but I know many of them are really harsh and completely change your metabolism. If you are looking for a cleanse, please look into Arbonne's 7 day cleanse. You drink the cleanse for 7 days however you continue to eat normal and healthy for 7 days. It's amazing how you feel after. Check it out at www.arbonne.com...feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

You really should not do something like this at all let alone when your trying to breastfeed.

If your goal is to lose weight you just eed to eat a little less and move more. Your already burning extra calories by making milk for your baby.

The 'master cleanse' and long term starvation diets like it just make your body eat it self from what I understand, and not in a good way. You need protein for certain functions and if your not eating it, guess where your body gets it? Your own muscles! Trust me you WANT muscle, it burns calories just sitting there.

Like everyone else said I suppose it depends on what your goal is.

Don't do it please!! I did this cleanse about a year ago and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Yes, I lost pounds, but gained it all back very quickly and put on more weight! It is very unhealthy and I almost fainted on day 9 during a meeting with my company's CEO.

What is your goal with a cleanse? To shed pounds or purify your body? Investigate other cleanses that actually involve food and nothing that is more than a few days.

Best of luck!!

I tried it once. I made it about 2 days before I thought I was going to die or tear someone's head off, and ate a handful of popcorn. That was many years ago, but I definitely wouldn't do it again. Due to the side effects, my husband actually refers to it as "colon blast."

It depends on what you are trying to get out of a cleanse. I would recommend a colon cleanse first and see if that helps you out. Dr. Natura has the best colon cleanse that I have seen and tried, it is gentle but does the job. There are other cleanses out there that involve food and are better for you than a "Fast". Fasts help you to lose a lot of weight fast but you do gain it back pretty fast too. I would recommend seeing a nutritionist and getting a healthy cleanse that is taylor made to your specific needs and wants. Be careful and go for nutrition rather than the fast way out.

while breastfeeding, a better option might be a juice cleanse.... something like blue print cleanse.
good luck!

If you're breast feeding you can't.. just a heads up once you "cleanse" you might actually form allergies to stuff you would have never thought. My SIL did one and after she started eating normally and was just sick all the time, went to the dr and had allergy tests done and she tested "allergic" to like 60+ things. Cleanses can be good but they have their downsides too.. make sure you look into the product you want to use, some are better (and safer) than others.. start with a beginners cleanse otherwise you'll be in hell for the first couple of days. You may even want to check with your OB first since you said you are still breast feeding. Happy cleansing.
