Anyone Tried Cable on the Internet?

Just wondering if anyone has tried cable on computer via internet instead of paying for it through tv and satellite companies? Right now I have satellite that I can record through a DVR which I love because we only watch a handful of channels and I can record the ones I want and then watch later. just wondering what other options are out there as it seems we are paying way more than what those few channels are worth.
thanks

Try HULU! See if your shows are on hulu.com. You might just throw out your TV! Many shows are there and you can watch when you want - up to a couple weeks later. Usually shows are available the day after they air, but sometimes they are uploaded up to a week later, but hey - it's FREE as long as you have Internet!!

this might be a shot in the dark but we have comcast, and we just resigned with them after being disconnected for almost a year - they are HARD up for customers...if you have them try calling and telling them you're going to cancel and see what they can offer you. if you don't maybe give them a try! they gave us a GREAT deal!

I haven't tried it on the internet but I have watched programs on the computer that I missed. You may be able to get some you want that way and the ones I watch are free. I don't know about the other but am wanting to find out too. I have directv and have had it for years but right now am looking for cheap too. If you do find a way on the internet let us know what it is.

I have heard of skyangel and we are still debating on it although we don't have cable or satellite at all and cancelled it about 2 years ago and realized we really don't need TV at all. We watch movies on Netflix and the unlimited download movies through the XBox with netflix so that keeps us entertained for only 10.00 a month and we can watch full seasons of some of the tv shows when they come out of video. We just watch them instantly and have no commercials and can stop and continue to watch them later when we don't have time to watch a whole show or movie. The only channels my husband misses watching is sports but he watches the highlights on the internet and keeps up with his team scores that way.
I don't miss not having cable at all as we are very busy, not home much and I always felt guilty when paying that bill when we did have it because we only watched it maybe an hour a day.
Now we are more aware of our time and try to have more family time which is very hard with teenagers on the go a lot.

We have looked up sky angel and looks good but doesn't have a lot of channels but does have clean shows and none of those horrible commercials we had on dish network which is the #1 main reason we dropped all cable and rarely watch TV.

Good Morning B., I have Cox cable for my PC & Phone.
Used to have it for my tv also but didn't up grade only had like 5 channels I liked. So we have Dish Network for tv now and kept cable for phone and pc. I love it, it's always on.
Our dish network is like 64-65.00 a month. Phone Unlimited free long distance caller id etc.. and Computer is I think around 70 a month. ONE thing I do not like about the Dish network is when a storm comes up, the TV is out more then we are. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.. I didn't have that problem with cox cable tv. Only time it went out was if whole town lost power.
Do a few google searches on prices, bundles and see what you find.

God Bless
