I live in the rural countryside of Northeast PA, near HONESDALE. (It is 30 miles EAST of SCRANTON, an HOUR FROM BINGHAMTON NY) I am also 50 Miles from PORT JERVIS, NY, and have to pass thru parts of upstate NY and NJ to get to my Mom's home in LONG ISLAND, where I am originally from. I visit LI often and would like to correspond with anyone living within this 3 hour drive. I love having EMAIL PEN PALS but it is nice when I finally get to meet some of the people I correspond with, should we become fast and furious friends. I am friends with "Moms" of all ages, even with young kids. My grown children's friends think I am cool, I am not an "old lady" in body or mind! LOL I LOVE HAVING FUN, TRAVELING, CAMPING and NATURE, CRAFTS and COOKING and would love to get together with anyone close enough to get creative with me. We could do projects together, or if close enough, perhaps start a GROUP.

This is very funny as I am also from LI NY. I grew up in Ronkonkoma (where my parents still live) and we lived in Babylon before moving up to Honesdale PA about 2.5 years ago. I have 3 young daughters 5yr, 3yr & 10.5 months. SO I am very familiar with the trip you take to NY and back. We go back and forth often too. Lately not very often as my husband lost his job with the whole financial crisis thing. He was in mortgages at a major bank that has been taken over...need I say more. SO we are just trying to survive this life change. You sound liek a very sweet woman.

I live in Lake Ariel, not far from Honesdale. I actually go there just about every other week. I'm a single mom of a 12yr old girl. We've been completely on our own for years. I don't get out much and it's always nice to make new friends. I moved here when I was 16 from NY and have been in Lake Ariel ever since. I tend to be a bit of a homebody myself.
