Anyone Know What the Extra String Inside Fancy Purses Is For?

My 3 year old has a pretty pink ruffle purse that her Grammy got her. It has the silver ball clasp that you have to push apart to open it. The handle is pink and shiny on the outside, but this string is longer than the handle and stays inside the purse. I remember this on my purses when I was little too, but I have no idea what it is for and she would really like to know, so I thought I would ask the experts. Thanks in advance!

A lot of purses convert from hand-held to shoulder bag. Sometimes the regular handle folds inside, but other times it stays outside and you can just pull the longer strap out. It's more common on regular purses than on toys, so be sure it's not a hazard in terms of her getting it tangled around her neck.

If it matches the purse, it is a shoulder strap. If it is ribbonlike, it is so that you can hang your bag in the closet. Kind of like those silky tops we own that need extra help to hang on the hanger.

if it is just a clasp - it's for keys - yep even in kids purses...

if it longer and a tad thicker, it converts it to a shoulder strap purse.

Have fun!! let her use her imagination!
