My hubby is a SAHD, we have a 5 month old son and a 9 year old daughter. Anyone know of any playgroups in SF that is SAHD-centered?
I honestly haven't really seen any playgroups designated for dads. On the other hand, I just bring my husband along to every activity that our son is involved in. Yes he may sometimes be the only dad there but all the moms really like him and like the fact that there is a dad in the group. They even notice when he's not even there which is kind of nice. I think it's just important that your children are involved in activities and socializing. I can understand also that you want your husband to be able to talk and connect to other stay at home dads. My husband at times can be in the dark when it comes to M. talk but he always finds a way to be included and makes all the other mommies laugh at his humor.
I don't know of playgroups but there is a great park at Duboce where there are lots of fathers with there kids.
And you should encourage your husband to start one.
The S. rec center has a great kids gym on Wed and Thurs. It's not SAHD specific, but there are a couple of other SAHDs that go there.
Check out meetup.com, I believe there are groups on their specifically for SAHD's.
