If you have dry skin, you are deficient in essential fatty acids - Omega 3s and Omega-6s. Try to find a good EFA supplement and take it liberally. I like Barleans, but I also hear Udos is good, too.
HI MOMS!
I have an issue with dry heels. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to use and maintenance on keeping your feet nice and smooth. I usually scrub with stone, exfoliate, rub lotion before bedtime and after I shower, but I still have an issue with dry heels.

Hi Mom
this is the only stuff that has worked well for me (
O'Keeffe's Working Hands Cream For Hands & Feet That Crack & Split). I order it online now due to walgreens is not stocking it anymore. I put it right after my shower before going to bed. I also use a Corn/Callus Remover Shaver every other day on my heels. I know it sounds crazy but it's the only process that has worked for my feet. Becasue of my very dry skin I dont think I will ever have baby soft feet but as least I don't have the ugly crack anymore. I hope it workes for you.
Arbonne, my feet are now like a baby's skin! The sea salt scrub exfoliates and the Herbal Foot Cream keeps them soft and from cracking. There are several other products we have that are great for the feet too. PM me for my contact info and or web site. Right now for the Holidays we also have Pampermint not only for the feet but the whole Body it is in demand every Holiday season.
Aveda.... and it smells so good
BeautiControl has a pedicure line of products.
Bag Balm--available at Walgreens. Since I am a barefoot person, with over 70 pairs of shoes, but at home I go barefoot until it's way to cold to do so. But I love strappy sandles so my feet are usually on display. When I do yard work in the summer so I have to wear sneakers and socks I slather my feet with Bag Balm and put on heavy gym type socks. In winter I will use a light coat of Bag Balm almost daily. I also have one of those callous scrapers with a handle and scrape my feet as needed. You can pick one up at Dollar Tree.
Since I am post menapausal I find I am way to warm to wear socks to bed. I can't sleep my feet get to hot.
I just noticed that you live in California--any where near the beach? They say walking barefoot in the sand is an excellent way to tone your legs and feet and exfoliate your feet at the same time.
Whatever you use don't put socks on after. People often do that and it can cause foot fungus. Covered moisture = FUNGUS.
The Body Shop lotion- Mango
I like those foot egg things you can buy, followed by Jergen's Deep Healing Cream. Find both at any store. Works great for me.
Bag balm does work really good but you can also try corn huskers it works great. Also try getting a parafin wax dip so amazin.
Bag Balm.
You can find it online too, ie: Amazon (read the reviews of it there) and on E-bay.
Not expensive.
Udderly Smooth Cream--after you use O. of those stones with a handle. Good luck!
yup...vaseline+socks at night. i hate it b/c i hate wearing socks at night...but it really does work wonders...i should do it a lot more often :)
Ditto any good cream (better than lotions) with socks.
I use a scrub from Bath and body and they have a special foot lotion (and hand lotion) that is pretty think, not really greasy and has parafin in it. Feels great and smells great.
Treat yourself to a spa pedicure that includes the parafin treatment.... AHHH so nice.
I think any decent cream but then adding socks immediately and wearing them overnight works wonders. I buy the super low socks that have not "legs" to them so I do not overheat at night (although sometimes I do still stick my feet out of the covers). I do this year round.
Wow....you've had lots of great suggestions here.....I shop from a store called Melaleuca. They've been a "green" company since the day they opened 25 yrs ago. You can visit their website at www.Melaleuca.com and view the products as a guest if you wish. They have almost 400 awesome products and never use harsh ingredients of any kind. No bleach, chlorine ammonia or formaldehyde for starters. I suffered all of my life from Eczema and very dry skin everywhere, including my heels. I use their product called Renew Intensive Skin Therapy. In my lifetime I have tried everything from Eucerine to Lubriderm and every cream these wonderful gals have listed here. None of them come close to the moisturizing power of Renew. I haven't had an eczema break out in the 8 yrs I've been shopping from Melaleuca. Check out my Blog for a video on Renew...I know you don't have eczema but Renew is for anyone from a new born baby to a mans dry feet. If you want to learn more about Melaleuca don't hesitate to email me any time ____@____.com.
Cucumber heel therapy..... will change your feet forever!
Vaseline!!! and Gold Bond!!!!
Coconut oil. You can buy it at the healthfood store, and I've even seen it at Walmart. Just rub it on your heels after your shower and before bed. It works miracles for dry skin. I prefer it over lotions. Make sure you wear socks as it does stain like any other oil. It also smells wonderful. (If you like coconut).
This stuff is awesome! I found it at Walgreens. It is unscented and works nicely. It's called Heel Rescue. It's sold in a tub that has a pump on it and doesn't look fancy at all. I've also learned that dry, cracked feet (including heels) may be caused by a fungus like the one that causes athlete's foot. You might want to try an antifungal for a short time.
Jafra carries a wonderfully effective line of Peppermint foot care products, which includes an intensive callus Remover and Intensive Heel & Foot Repair.
These products keep my feet nice and soft. Contact me for more information if you're interested.
Do NOT put socks on before going to bed. This can cause fungus to grow.
Vasoline evry night and throw on some socks. My feet are super dry and vasoline makes them soft every time. and its way cheaper than lotion. Avon has some good ones too, and they often go on sale for $1.99
Lubriderm Intense Skin Repair Ointment in a tube or Miracle Foot Repair Cream
