I would like to have my daughters names put on their backpacks, the place at the mall wanted $15 per name, which sounds like alot. Maybe its not- can anyone tell me where I can go for less, or is that a good price? Really anywhere between Denton and Plano- Lewisville, Flower Mound, Coppell, any of those are OK!

These are preschoolers, so are only wearing their backpacks into school, with me. I'm not worried about them wandering alone and someone knowing their name. I probably wouldn't do it on an older child that was going to be without my supervision, but these are just for preschool.
I used Bonnie, from Creative Threads, to embroider my backpacks. She did a super job, was very nice, and got them done in 2 days!!! I recommend her to anyone that needs monogramming done!!
If you are in Plano there is a place on the SE corner of Parker and Independence I believe (may be Park) in the Tom Thumb shopping center that will do the names. I got my younger son's napmat in there and they added his name to it.
The Walmart in Lewisville does embroidery.
Being a little protective, are you sure you want to put your child's name on their backpack? I don't allow my daughter to have anything on her that displays her name. I'm slightly protective and don't want strangers able to call her by name.

Law enforcement personnel who specialize in crimes against children say you should NEVER put your child's name on clothing, backpacks, etc. I would not do it!
There's a place on Main right next to the Sprouts in Flower Mound. I think I've paid $10-12 to have it done but I added rhinestones. There is also a place on 407 in Lewisville called Embroidme but I've never been there.
I would also be reluctant to have my child's name displayed for strangers to see. Kids assume that whoever is calling them by name knows them or their mother. They may not think of the fact that the name is displayed on their backpacks. pedophiles have used this technique to get children to come with them.
That sounds pretty common in pricing. Anywhere I've gone, has never charged less then $15.00.

I think that's actually a reasonable price. I'm having a "Thirty-One" party at my house later this month where they personalize bags for less than that, but only the ones they sell.
