I think Peter Bond was also recommended to me, but then when I called they said he still owned the office but was retiring because of health or an injury. I could be mixing him up with another dentist I heard not so good things about. Either way, I am a psycho picky doctor person! (nice self description huh?) I spent about 6 months digging and asking around and got a recommendation for Dr. Crystal at Rawlings & Associates. http://www.greatsmiles.org/pedi.asp
When I called I had to wait a tiny bit for her, but wanted to stick with the exact Dr. who was recommended. We went and for the first time in my life, I didn't have a single complaint in a medical office! I was shocked because I always get mad about something. (I switched my baby Dr. three times in her first year if that gives you an idea). On top of it being wonderful....the prices were too!!!! The older offices I called in Escondido wanted about $300 for first timers. They only charged me $98, we didn't do X-rays so that made it cheaper but even if we had it wouldn't have been $300. The office is in a new fancy building too, which usually they charge you for. We don't have dental insurance on our daughter because our agent said they go so little at this age it isn't worth it as we are self insured.
Once in the office, it was so cute, they took her picture by this big fake tree and put it in a card that said my first time... then they gave her a t-shirt, then when they were introducing her to the chair they gave her a toothbrush with a character, toothpaste with a character, a cute little floss holder. After the experience they let her pick a toy from the chest, I think all they had left that day was a little beach ball. But it was all so cute and sweet. Good luck!
