We just moved to a new part of town and are looking for a new preschool for our 3-4 year olds for next school year. Someone suggested The School in the Pines on Cypresswood between Kuykendaul and I 45. Anyone have any experience with this Preschool? Any good or bad?
Thanks

I interviewed this school for my son when he was about to turn 3. I did not get the warm and fuzzy feeling from the teacher. I've since found out that thier turn over factor is too high for my comfort level. My son is now goes to the elementary school right across the street from School in The Pines. I know a few families that have taken thier kids out of there, but there are still lots of parents that are happy with their program. So I would recommend you spending some time at the school observing the classroom that your child will be in. I ended up sending my kids to Resurrection Lutheran, which is not too far from School in the Pines. I just felt like I got more of the the warm and fuzzy feeling from the teachers there than I got from the teacher that I interviewed at the time my son was about to enter school. It may be different now with the set of teachers there, you have to find your comfort level.

Hi H. ... I have no experience with daycare/preschool, but my 1st grader was there last summer for the Summer Day Camp and it was absolutely fantastic!! We'll probably do the same thing this summer. My daughter loved it!!

Check out Kids'R'Kids off of Louette and Old Holzwarth. I know of people that switched from school of the pines to KidsRKids and are happier. They have cameras so that you can see your children when you are at work.

My son has attended the School in the Pines since Sept 2007. The school is across Lemm Elementary which is convenient since my son attends kindergarten there. The Pines' aides will pick up the kids from the elementary school and walk them over to the Pines for their after school program. The Pines has helped my son with his homework, interaction with other kids, and maintaining his interest in school. He is always excited to be at the Pines. The aides are great with the kids. I have not had any problems with them. I H. this info helps!
