Anyone had any luck with purposely conceiving a girl when you wanted a girl?? What worked for you? I want very much to give my husband a daughter...we have 2 boys and the 3rd time around is going to be my last chance at having a girl. I would really like to make it count. :) Don't get me wrong...if we had another boy, that would be great too. But would really like to try for a girl. Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

My OB recommended Taking Control of Your Fertility: http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-Your-Fertility-Annive... Nothing's 100%, but my OB swears he's seen this book work numerous times. I can't speak from personal experience, since we haven't started trying yet, but we'll use it to aim for a boy next time (since we already have the perfect little girl!) Good luck!

Check the chinese birth charts. They're supposed to be 99% accurate. It is dependant on your age and the month that you conceive. It was right on my son and every friend that I've ever checked on.

Much luck!!!

sadly gender is meant to be what god intended. There are medical things that can be done to increase the likelyhood of a boy but none i know of for a girl. BUT they are not sure of the long term side effects for influencing gender on the child in terms of psychology when they grow up. But statistically you still have a 50-50 chance, but its ultimately up to how the mans little soldiers want to work.

I would also say use the Chinese Charts. I checked them after I found out I was pregnant with each of my 4 children, and it was right on the money of the sex of each child. It's amazing how it works.

Good luck to ya & Blessings,

I recently read an article about a research study conducted in Europe that said women were 56% more likely to have a girl if they were on calorie-restrictive diets during the months before conception and the first months of pregnancy. Nothing dramatic as far as calorie restrictions, though, so don't feel like you have to go overboard - just low-calorie dense foods (like fruits & veggies) rather than high-calorie dense foods (like sugary cereals, and junk food). Of course, 56% is extremely close to 50%, so I'm not sure this study really means anything. :)

I dont know anything about the Chinese Charts. But when I was reading up on trying to concieve with my first child I really wanted a girl as well. I found out that Boy Swimmers are faster and Girl Swimmers are slower but last longer. So if you want a girl have sex the day before you ovulate and for a boy the day of ovulation. But to be all honest I wanted a baby so bad that we had sex the day of ovulation as well.

We had sex the day before ovulation and Success! We had a Girl! I used the clear blue easy ovulation test kit to know when I was ovulating. We will be trying for baby number 2 pretty soon and I want another girl...this will be our last child. I was going to let nature decided but I think I will help like last time.

Good luck and update the post when you do get preg. and find out what you have.

I don't know if they are still taking patients, but you may want to read up on MicroSort at www.microsort.com to see whether that might be something that would interest you; it would cost a great deal of money and could be an ordeal, but their statistics show, if I recall correctly, that they can increase the odds from about 50% to more than 70% when trying for a girl. good luck.

I don't think any chart or old wives tale can help you decide what the sex of your baby will be. You will have what God intends for you to have.

There are books out there....I know one is by Dr. Shettles, I believe it's "How to choose the sex of your baby" or something like that. You can also go on line and find out more info. Good Luck!
