Anyone Have Experience with "Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome"?

I have been having many health issues since my 3rd c-section over 3 years ago. I have been to many doctors and have undergone many different treatments, with little or no success. My OB and I have been attributing my problems to my c-section, but I have recently heard of this syndrome, and I did have a Tubal Ligation at the time of that c-section. Many of my symptoms fit with the symptoms I have read about. I am just wondering if anyone else has heard of it, or actually suffered from it, and if so, what was the outcome? I understand many doctors don't even believe it exists, but I would like to hear other (mama's) opinions. Thanks!

Hey Barbara,

I haven't experienced what you've described, but I have an idea. Get as much information you can and present it to your doctor and see if you could get a referal to someone who specializes in such things. Then perhaps you can get some answers. Good luck and God bless, ls

I was just looking on the internet regarding this syndrome as I had never heard of it, but had my tubes done in 2000. I had the procedure immediately after delivery, so there was alot that I contributed to well your period just changes after you have another child. I've always had headaches, but since the TL they have turned into debilitating migraines (enough to make me almost lose my job), I did experience the very sharp "electrified" pain in lower right side mid month for a while. It would happen without any warning and was almost enough to "drop me". anyways there's a few other things, but I never really knew these weren't normal & never even thought that could be the cause until I read your post & started looking into it. I still don't know, but I am curious. The only good thing I can say is now my periods are 2 days extremely heavy with 3-4 of spotting, but that is so far from normal for me. I blamed it on age (I'm 32), but now I am wondering. http://www.tubalreversal.net/post_tubal_ligation_syndrome...
This is a TR site, but it has alot on PTLS. Anyways, thanks for putting this out there so more people know about & I'm sorry I don't have any real advice for you! (I know years ago I had a dr tell me I had early signs of CFS, but Drs dont really believe in that either because there's no definitive test) Take Care!

did they do your tubal on the table just after the C section before sewing you up? also did your doctor say anything about a problem with the procedure? the reason i am asking these questions is that my doctor told my husband that my tube tying gave them more problems than they expected (he didn't ask any other questions--at the time i didn't know about it and then was too busy with child number 3---plus time had elapsed and i was feeling okay) through the years i feel i have had more bleeding issues, tumor and cyst problems than my sisters who did not have this done. you might go back to your doctor or just ask to access your medical records to see if there were any notations about the procedure. kase
