Anyone Had Endometrial Ablation?

I was wondering if anyone has had an Endometrial Ablation? I'm considering having it done due to heavy periods and chronic anemia. I've read about it but never heard from anyone who's actually had it done. I have an appt with my ob/gyn to discuss it next month. Any info would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

have you considered acupuncture and chinese herbs for the heavy periods and anemia? they are wonderfully effective for such complaints, and would help to balance your overall health, without the permanent side effects of ablation.

I had one done in September. I have fibroids as well. It did not take my period away. I guess it can still stop sometime but probably will not. My periods are manageable now. I was anemic as well. I am glad I did it. My life is manageable now. I could not leave the house while I had my period, I had to change every 20 min or so. I visited this site and found it helpful. Her story is a lot like mine. http://www.endometrialablationdiscussion.com/

Hi I had one done July 2005. It did not take my periods away, but made them so much better. They are very light and last maybe 4 days, most months I don't even have to wear a pad/tampon. The only draw back is no more kids, because it thins out your uterine walls.

I have had 4 laproscopic done for my endometrious. I feel better afterwards for about a year or so, this last one has lasted almost 3 years, I feel it but not as bad as it can get, do you have endometrious?

Dear N.,
I have had clients have this done; the only setback is it most likely will make it impossible to conceive again. It makes your uterine wall smooth by burning out the endometrial wall. It worked really well for her, she was done with having children and her years of agony of a heavy flow stopped.
Good luck with your decision.
