OMG, it is so addictive! I have done searches and found sooo many new ideas for teaching. I have found really cute DIY ideas for decorating, too. You have to spend some time looking around. I get on at night when the kids are in bed. :).

ETA: I haven't joined. I just get on and look at stuff. A friend told me about a few weeks ago. Not interested in pinning stuff just yet.

I LOVE it! I have two accounts--one for me personally and one for my blog (a food blog--that's where I pin the recipes I find). I've introduced a few friends to it too and my suggestion is to have one of your friends sit with you sometime and show you how it works. Also, be sure to get the PinIt button on your toolbar (click on the Pinterest logo and it should bring you that as an option)--that makes pinning WAY easier when you find something on a website/blog vs. just repinning what somone else has already found. HTH!

Love it ! I have gotten some really good ideas for decorating, food, & crafts. There's lots of cute sayings, etc also. It can be addicting ! To me it's almost like putting different documents into different folders. You can set up boards (think folders) and call them whatever you want. Ex: I have food, My Styles, Crafts for the Future, Decorating Ideas, etc. Then as you browse and look at Pinterest if you find something you like you pin it to whatever of your boards you want to (like putting a document in a folder). There's a "Repin" button at the top of each little thing that you click. When you set your account up, you can click the option to put a Pin button on your toolbar so when you are browsing the web or looking at blogs, you can pin it to your boards. PM me if you have any questions.

It is confusing at first. Do a general search for anything you find interesting. I recently did "reindeer cookies", for example. Once you see a picture that you like, click on it to go the native website, where you will usually find instructions or a recipe. Then, if you want to pin it yourself you can do so to start adding to your collection.
Read the instructions in the About-Help section about adding a button to your toolbar. When you find something you want to pin, just click the button in your toolbar. You can set up different groups of items (called boards) to help you organize your pins.
Hope this helps!

Just checked it out the other day. I saw a cute Martha Stewart recipe and made it the next day :) Have not ventured too far into it though.

I LOVE IT - spend way too much time on there now. It takes awhile to get the hang of it, but once you do it's addicting!

Just keep at it--find a picture you like on the site, repin it into one of your folders, and then you can keep track of interesting items, recipes, DIY tips, funny pics, etc. You can also pin your own findings from pretty much any website--so, right now I am using it to pin together lots of DIY Christmas decoration instruction sites, so I have them all available in one place. It is kinda like using the "Favorites" option in my browser, but instead with Pinterest I can see everything in a picture thumbnail & access it very easily.

It is pretty cool--I have NEVER known my style before, but now, by pinning various fashion and home decor items I have FINALLY seen a trend emerging and when I finally have a budget to start redoing our home, I will have tons of examples of what I'd like to see in my home.

Hope this helps!

My fav place to go waste time besides here.
But is super confusing.

Did you get an invite to have an account on the site, start there. Sometimes i log out so i can see the "home"page but then i can't pin anything. I think my problem is that i still haven't figured out how to add the Pin it bar to my tool bar at the top. so i can't actually pin from any blogs or websites, I just pin off my friends pins. (i follow them) and you can follow anyone at all they don't have to accept you.

I can't help a whole lot but if you have other questions you can pm me.
