I would go to a chiropractor. They can do amazing things. It really makes you appreciate the old song about the knee bone connected to the leg bone. One little thing out of place can give you symptoms that seem unrelated.
I have been feeling a lot pain in my knees when I bend my knees to sit, when I strecth them to stand and when I bend down to pick something off the floor or get something from the lowest cabinet, when I climb stairs, after driving for a while, or after seating for a while... I have tried walking and minor exercise but this has not brought me any relief.. I initially thought it might be the way my knees were placed during delivery - it was a vaginal birth... but it feels like it's taking a little longer than usual to get better. It's been 3 months since I had my beautiful baby... any advise would be grateful. I never had this pain before and was pretty active before the pregnancy and moderately so after - making time to heal.. I gained between 30 - 35 llbs during pregnancy. Thanks in advance for your help

I had similar issues after I gave birth to my son. Fibromyalgia runs in my family, and childbirth can really bring it out, so I headed straight to my doctor's office. He said that it can take up to one year for your body to return to normal after delivery because of the many changes your body endures (increased weight, loosening then re-tightening of ligaments, etc.). My pain was manageable with naproxen, so I decided to forego a prescription and see how it went. Sure enough, about nine months post-delivery I felt much better. The joint pain was gone. I hope this makes you feel better now, but I would still highly recommend talking to your doctor about it to come up with a solution that works for you. Good luck!
I experienced the same pain after both of my pregnancies. I can't remember how long it took to go away, but my daughter just turned one and I haven't had the pain for awhile. It gradually subsides and then will eventually go away. Good luck!
I agree with checking with the doctor or go to a chiropractor, but another thing could be your shoes. I had terrible knee pain which I finally figured out was from my new sneakers. They are gone and so is my pain. Yep, the knee bones is connected to the foot bone, haha, as Nancy said!
Did you lose the weight you gained? Extra weight might be the issue..........My guess is tho, it's from the delivery and something getting moved or out of whack........it might be a nerve.........or a muscle in your back........
I would suggest that you bring this up to your OBGYN and see if they might have a cause for it.........3 months isn't necessarily a long time, but you should be getting better by now. go get checked out and make sure it's not something that needs to be looked at........just to be safe.
Take care and hang in there.....Congrats on your baby!
Have you talked to your OB? My neighbor couldn't walk right for a year after her daughter was born. They think the anesthesiologist "fried" her nerves. She's better now but it took quite a while to the point she couldn't make the steps for the first several months.
Hey! I just had a baby four months ago and I have the same thing, but I also have the pain in my ankles. I also had it after my son way born, but not after my second child. I gained that same amount of weight as you, too. It did go away after my son was born, but took about 9 months. Apparently, this kind of pain is not uncommon after birth and somehow ties into the pregnancy hormone that loosens your joints, etc. Mine was so bad the first time, and so weird that they tested me for arthritis (the first time I also had it in my hands). I also exercise, eat well, etc. and I have also lost most of my pregnancy weight and tend to be about 4 lbs lighter than my height calls for, so it's a little freaky to have this kind of joint pain. If I could, I would probably take ibuprophren (I developed an allergy to it after my first child was born) and get some heat on your joints when they really bother you. Hot baths definitely help. I also find that it is worse when I sit for long periods, so I am trying to get up and move around more during the day. Also, there is a natural supplement you can take called glou-something that is available at Whole Foods and similar places.
Mine did go away the first time, so I am mostly eating Tylenol and hobbling around until it goes away again this time!
Good luck!

I had that problem, too, when my daughter was born. It was also when I became a SAHM, so I spent most of my time wandering the house barefoot. This took a surprising toll on my joints. (Even if you are working, you are likely walking the halls at home with a little one in the middle of the night.) I got some good quality "house shoes" and some nice slippers and that helped a lot until the problem resolved on it's own (I think it was before my daughter's first birthday).
