Anyone Experience an Incomplete Miscarriage?

My family just moved from Florida to Missouri. A week before the moving truck was scheduled to show, I miscarried. This would have been our third child (11 wks along) and was my second miscarriage overall (I had one before my first son was born). I have been under a lot of stress with the move, then the miscarriage, and I'm still bleeding. Friday will be 6 weeks. I'm very naturally minded and saw midwives for both of my pregnancies...delivered both with no drugs whatsoever. I really want to stay away from a D&C and other drugs, but know that interventions are needed sometimes. Just last night I got a number to a local midwife to get checked out, but I want to know some other women's stories.

If you experienced something like this, how long did it last and what did you end up doing to fix the problem?

Thanks!
E.

So What Happened?

Well, Friday was 6 weeks and the bleeding increased dramatically that night after receiving prayer. We were a little worried but, after talking with a midwife and assuring her that I was not having a fever or any fowl smelling discharge, she told me to drink TONS of liquid chlorophyll (like a quart a day), take some homeopathics and REST. Friday and Saturday, the bleeding was intense, but I was also passing more tissue, which hadn't really happened for a few weeks. Everything slowed down Saturday night and now I'm almost completely dried up. God is good and I believe that although the bleeding was intense and scary those last 2 days, it was an answer to prayer to bring this miscarriage to completion.

Thank you to all of the Mama's who shared about their past experiences...I know it can be a very sensitive subject....or just offered encouragement. It helped.

Blessings!
E.

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. It is a horrible thing to lose a baby. I had a miscarriage and only bled for only a week. I never went into the doctor's office, but i did call. They said to call them if the bleeding didn't stop. I would say you should call a midwife just to make sure everything is okay. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I bleed for quite awhile (wks), but was sure I passed everything. Well, I didn't and ended up having a D&C to remove what was left and risked an infection. It maybe just fine, but you may want to get an ultrasound to make sure everything is gone, if you get a bad infection it can mean your uterus. I'm hoping everything is fine and your body is just taking it's time, but at least have it checked out. Good luck

When I had my miscarriage, I was the same as you and did not want the d&c, and I bleed for a very long time. I think it was almost 12 weeks, then I continued to spot for about 7 months. My dr. office had me go and have blood work done every week to check my hormone levels, it still showed I had the pregency hormones for all of those 7 months. It was a very long process for me and somewhat frustrating. There were many moments I wished i would of done the d&c just to have it over with, but looking back on it I'm glad I never had to.
