I came back from vacation to find a "hatching" of centipedes in my basement. (I killed like 3 just in the toyroom in a 10 minute period of cleaning.) I am absolutely terrified of them and want them gone! I am not interested in bug bombing or having someone spray chemicals in my home because of my small children. Has anyone ever successfully used one of those "plug in" type of ultrasonic bug/small rodent type repellers? If so, what brand do you recommend? Do I need one for each floor of my home? Thank you so much for your answers!!!
We used these, and they never worked for us. We didn't have a rodent problem - just bugs - and we never noticed a difference. We did have one on every floor, so I think we had enough for the house; they just didn't work. Sorry!
I used them a long time ago. It did work where we lived but where we are now, not so much. My brother is an electrician and he told me that the way they work is that they make the wires vibrate and pests cannot stand that. So if you have a fairly newer home, they may work. You will need more than one though. One for each level and if you have separate systems, one for each side of the house. I would need to have about 10 of them due to the way my house is wired. When we used them it was one that started with an R, rectangular shape, and kept out the mice that my landlord just figured were "nature's pests".

I'll be anxious to see what responses you get. We just bought one and plugged it in last week. Not sure yet if it does anything. We didn't really have any bugs... but some ants did show up. I used Terro on them the same day I plugged in the bug thing, so don't know if it did anything or it was just the Terro that did IT's thing. We do have a lot of spiders around the garage. I wonder if it will make them find another place to build their webs...
