Sorry for all the disney questions!! lol

I was wondering if any of you have ever shipped a package to Disney resort to avoid bringing it all on the plane??

We will have some extra items (halloween costumes, diapers for two kids, etc) and someone suggested to ship it there before hand - that the hotel will hold onto it for us for when we arrive...

Anyone know how this works? Would we just use UPS? How would we get the stuff back home? Just ship it back? Any tips would be great!

Thanks
(ps..we will have three dd's to manage 4yrs-11months - so having lvery ittle luggage is a must) Anyone happen to know how long flights are from Dalls to DW??

My best friend shipped bottled water and diapers when she went last year. They stayed at Pop Century and it was no problem at all. It is a common practice. Type the question into disboards and they will explain exactly what to do. I know it didn't cost them anything to ship to the resort.

There is a service that will ship your luggage, necessities, etc for you to your destination. Its sometimes cheaper to do this than to check all that luggage and pay airline fees, especially if you have alot. As well, with the little ones, it comes in handy so all you need to take is a carry on or two. No waiting for bags once you get off the plane is also a big plus.

I can't remember the name of the service that does this for you, but they will send it directly to your hotel once you let them know when your hotel arrival will be. This way, its not just sitting around at some hotel unattended either. They featured this on the news here in MI recently and said it is a highly recommended thing to do these days.

I'll see if I can find the info or a link, and will edit my response if I find it, but in the meantime, try googling a luggage delivery sevice (I think thats what it was termed) to see if you can locate it as well.

Have fun in Disney.....

Also, the suggestion from the news was to do it yourself via UPS or Fed Ex, which will save you the fees associated with having a company schedule the shipping for you. Either way, make a few calls around and get a good price.....everything that I've read said that this is a great way to give yourself an added break for vacation. You could also contact your hotel and see if they recommend a company or have any suggestions, since they probably deal with the return-home shipping circumstances all the time.

I have not shipped to disney but did have a tip that another mom passed to us when we were traveling with young kids. Don't try to ship and or bring diapers on a trip. unless your going somewhere out of the county. it will be cheaper to just wait and buy them when you get there. There are walmarts, kmarts , walgreens etc all over the US and it is much cheaper to just buy them when you get there. it will save you on the hassel of paying and hoping they are there when you get their and also the hassel of making space in your luggage for big bulky stuff like that. good luck
