Anyone Ever Get a Pea Sized Lump in the Armpit?

I was showering while I had mastitis (breast infection) last week and I was on antibiotics for the infection in my left breast. While showering I found a tiny lump in my right armpit. It almost feels like a pimple but its more like a lymph node or swollen hair follicle or something else G-d forbid. I am nervous and going to the MD tomorrow hopefully but thought I'd get some feedback from you moms. I looked it up on the net and it seems this is more common in the summer from swollen or infected sweat glands but of course my mind races and is nervous for anything else G-d forbid.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies! You guys are the greatest. It ended up being an irritated gland nothing to do with the infection surprisingly. I was so relieved, thank G-d. Thank you for the supportive notes though.

I had multiple pea sized lumps and they were semi-painful to touch - I was FREAKING OUT!! I went to my MD who said it was swollen lymphnodes - I had recently hit my head and received a sizaeable bump on my fourhead as a result, when the fluid drained from the bump on the fourhead it was filtered through a series of lymphnodes (apparently it didn't bother the ones in my neck), but when it got to the ones in my armpits it caused them to swell. They gave me antibiotics and the lumps went away in about a week. The only thing for me was, because they were painful, I couldn't shave until they were gone (because it hurt & because there were so many that I would cut my skin really bad as well). Even though this is something minor (most likely), you should still see an MD so they can treat it appropriately.

its probably a swollen lymph node- regardless you need to see the dr. you may need to be on an antibiotic.

sebaceous cyst? I had the same prob. a little lower, not harmful but the only way to make it go away is surgery. Hope yours isn't anything serious. G/L

Yes, I have had that...it was an ingrown hair that got inflamed, no big deal. My sister had something in her armpit that had to be removed, turned out to be breast tissue growing in wrong place, again, no big deal. Since you're getting over an infection, it's probably your lymphatic system filtering your blood via a swollen glad. Your MD will give you peace of mind tomorrow, I'm sure.
