Have you been to Taste of Arlington? It's usually held in the fall at the convention center. It's been a few years since I've been, but it's lots of fun :)
Hi. I'm a slight foodie and I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any food festivals, activities, or cook-offs that are open to the public that occur here in the metroplex. It just seems like a fun thing to do with the hubby and/or the little one. I'm not looking to enter or compete, merely spectate and try something new.

Heritage Church of Christ in Keller is having a chili cook-off on March 31. The are also going to have a bake sale, pony rides and inflatables.
I think Savor Dallas is coming up March 9-10. www.savordallas.com You do have to buy tickets for it. I went in 2005 the year I was pregnant and I was able to see a demonstration and meet Tyler Florence from Food 911. I had a BLAST! You may want to make sure it is baby/kid friendly.
Crimestoppers of Garland is hosting the 'Taste of Garland' on April 14. I have been several times and it is awesome! Here is a link for more information.
I would look into D magazine, they have most of the metroplex activites listed each month - taste of addison/dallas/oktoberfest/ etc. are just a few of the festivals that go on during the year. A subscription to D magazine is inexpensive, and lists children's activites as well each month. -JM
I don't know when, but the fort worth zoo holds a food tasting night with resturants from the area.
I know there is a Greek food festival and then there is always Grapefest... I can't remember when they are though. Usually city papers have info on them.
There is an Irish Festival and a Savor Dallas Festival at the end of March,

there will be a taste of Dallas coming up soon next couple of months at City Hall Plaza in downtown Dallas. Lots of restaurants participate with good food and nice grounds to stroll. The season is just starting so keep an eye out. Los Colinas has a art fair yearly with many food vendors and poetry, crafts etc. Beautiful grounds to wonder.
Several of the area Greek Orthodox churches have annual festivals. Also, all the area Central Market stores have weekly activities and are a lot of fun. Some have live music, and all have playgrounds and nice outdoor patios. Check centralmarket.com for the upcoming events.
