Any Thoughts on My Daughter Vomiting Twice in One Week.

I need some help or suggestions. My 4 year old puked this past Tuesday right before dinner. About an hour later she was acting fine. You never would of known she had gotten sick. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and all day today she was fine. Until after she ate dinner. She puked again. That was about 4 hours ago, and she is acting totally fine again. She didn't run a fever either time. The only other symptom she has had is a runny nose. What could be causing this?

EDIT: I wanted to add that her runny nose isn't so bad. And she doesn't have it all the time. And she has no cough. I just think it's so strange that twice in one week around the same time she got sick. I wouldn't think it could be two different strains of the stomach flu.

What can I do next?

Is it possible that she is allergic or developing an intolerance to something that she ate on Tues. and tonight?

It could just be from the mucous drainage from her congestion. My son has done that a few times and he's not what I would consider a "pukey" kid.

Well it's weird for sure, but honestly, if it doesn't happen again I'd probably chalk it up to being 4. My kids sometimes do things like that and they have thrown up for no apparent reason before. It's also possible she has a little bug, she just might not show a lot of other signs. Kids are resilient and they don't want to stop and slow down so if she's only feeling a tiny bit off you may not even know.

If it does happen again I'd probably jot down everything she just ate or did and the fact that she had a runny nose, etc. Look for a pattern so that if it continues it might help you rule things out.

I would say that she either ate too much, something didn't agree with her, or she might be allergic to something she ate.

My nephew would do this. He had a lot of mucus and a really strong cough that would cause him to gag and puke. He would be fine for days, then without warning would wake up and puke. The fine again and it would repeat itself. It was lots of fun for my SIL who has a phobia about throwing up.

Check for a UTI. They can have very strange and varied symptoms.

It could be from the runny nose. My son did this Monday morning. He woke up saying his stomach hurt and proceeded to vomit. I was sure it was the flu, but he was perfectly fine after that. He'd had a cold with a runny nose and cough so I figured it must have been that. Then last night, he was complaining of his stomach again. He didn't end up vomiting that time, but still has the runny nose. Sometimes they just ingest too much snot and it has to come out.

Eh, kids do that sometimes for no apparent reason. I got a call from the high school Wednesday - my almost 16 year old son had just puked in 1st period. Picked him up and by the time we got to the doctor he was complaining that he was hungry. No fever, normal blood pressure, no abdominal pain - Doctor said it was just a one off.

Kept him home for the rest of the day and after having a bowl of oatmeal - kinda' like a test food - the kid ate for the next 8 hours - pbj sandwiches, chicken strips, veggies, and gosh knows what else that he filched out of the pantry snack wise.

Long way around the bushes to say - I would not be too worried about it if there are no other symptoms. You could try keeping a food journal just to make sure there is not a food triggering the vomiting.
