Hi! This is my first time planning a Garage Sale, and I have no idea what to do. lol Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are there any days that are better than others? Any tips or hints about pricing? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Just as an FYI: We are selling kids' toys (Little Tykes slide, basketball hoop, etc.), some baby gear, girl clothing (sizes 0-18 mos.), boy clothing (sizes 0-4T), household goods (dining table, lamps, etc.), and more. Please, let me know if you would like more specifics about any items or are looking for something.

What can I do next?

Hi S.. My biggest suggestion would be, if you live in a neighborhood, let all the other houses know you are having a garage sale and tell them on what days, and let them know it would be great if they wanted to have their garage sales that same time. We did it in our neighborhood, and had about 6 houses participate, and I've never seen such a turn-out!! Everyone's garage sale was an enormous success b/c of the number of people drawn to them. Good luck on your garage sale!!

My suggestion would be to have it on a Friday or Saturday. Saturdays will bring a better turnout. Also put out hot colored signs(hot pink or green) on a main road for advertisement! Tag all clothes with prices(I'm not one to ask how much each item is selling for) or put in sections based on Kids, mens, womens and if each piece of clothing you are wanting to sell for example, 50 cents or a $ make a sign that states that. Your clothes will go much faster if people are aware of the prices. Just a little suggestion..I hope it helps! Also when are you planning to have your garage sale and are you selling any girls clothing sizes 10-12, 8-10 or 6-7?

Hello,
Just remember in pricing. These are items you either don't want or have a use for any longer. So don't price high. You will not get what you paid for the item when purchased. Alot of people don't realize that when pricing their items and they may not do as well. At the same time you want to leave room for negotiating. Like a dress, price at $7 but maybe go no lower than $5. If a customer asks for a lower price, never say no!. They will put down anything they have in hand and walk away. You will appear unnegotiable. Have Fun and price friendly (not too cheap though). Good Luck!
