I am looking for a Pre-K program for my four-year-old for next fall. It doesn't have to be highly "academic" - I'd like for him to work on phonics, but I am more concerned about social aspects and getting him ready for grade school. He'll start kindergarten in fall 2011. At the same time, do you have any preschools I should stay away from? Thanks!
The Roseville ECFE Preschool program is outstanding in my opinion. You can't go wrong with "Teacher Diane".

Our son attends Normandy Park Education Center and they do bus if that is a concern. He loves it and has grown since the fall in his knowledge and socialization. I highly recommend it. They do a lot of outside play and interaction (fenced in play ground) and they have a large indoor gym with a lot of equipment and tricycles. I personally think it is a great thing. They have 1/2 day programs 2-4 days per week.
We sent my son and now my daughter to LADC (Lake Area Discovery Center) which has two campuses in White Bear Lake as well as three others. It is a christian pre-school. They are WONDERFUL! They teach many things, including the letters, numbers, some science, manners, lots of song, art, etc. My son started reading at four and my daughter, who is three, is already starting to recognize names, and knows most of her letters/numbers. We have been very impressed with Jack and Jill in Roseville.
Our son goes to St Andrew in Mahtomedi and absolutely loves it. They have small class sizes, and great teachers. We also did LADC last year for a two year old program that we really liked. Good Luck.
