Any Shoes That Actually Stay on an 9 Month Old?

My 9-month-old guy has a wide foot, so ShooShoos work well (hand-me-downs from big sistser). And Soft Star Dorado's w/ velcro are staying on well (my son also removes everything from his feet as soon as you put it on), but these are pretty pricey and I only got mine because I found them for 40% off (and even that still stung).

N., I just noticed you posted this a while ago but go to walmart. They have the most adorable shoes for 10$ they are soft soled but have tread rubber on the bottom. I have 2 pair for my daughter. They are hannging on an end cap display by the infants stuff not in the shoe section. They come in several styles. They are like robeez but have the tread for walkers

Stride rite shoes are great, but can get to be a little pricey. I have very active 14 month old twin boys that have been wearing shows since they were 2 months old. I found walking shoes that look just like stride rites walking shoes for about $10-$15 at Payless and that is what my guys have been wearing for the past 6 months. They work great and they cant get them off. They give them the support they need for walking too.

Nothing works better the Robeez. Target makes copy ones and their cheaper and I hear they are just as good! Check out Robeez.com ~J.

I bought crawling shoes, and they work. My daughter is 11 mos and she can't get them off and she does not fight me to put them on either. I found them at StrideRite they were like 36.00 bucks but well worth it.

Why struggle?
I never bothered putting shoes on my boys until they were over a year old. Nice warm, thick, knee-high slipper socks will stay on and keep his feet warm. When going outside, a pair of insulated slip-on boots, and you're all set.

I have an 8 month old who is very, very active. He started furniture walking, pulling himself up on everything, and crawling like a maniac about a month a half ago. I got him the stage 2 "cruising" shoe at Stride Rite. I would recommend that store to anyone I know! They know EVERYTHING about kids shoes, feet, and how shoes should fit little ones. It was rather expensive, $46 and some change, but they work so well. He can stand better, walk better, and has learned to keep his balance without holding on to anything! Those shoes are great! They tie and stay on, even when he unties them and pulls at the shoes! Good luck and happy shopping!

My son didn't really ever have "shoes" on his first year. We bought Robeeze (check out website)I really truly believe that soft soled shoes are best for an infant. In the winter he would were soft soled slipper socks or his robeezes, with thicker socks. When we went outside to play he had normal winter boots.

My daughter is extremely active and I found little hitop tennis shoes at walmart that she couldn't get off. They were great, I actually kept buying those up until she was 1. You may want to check those out, they looked really cute and no way possible for the little one to get them off without your help.

I saw the copycat Robeez at Target, they look very similar and are only $12.99. I would go with these. We received a pair of Robeez for my daughter's first birthday. They were adorable, and pretty easy to put on and keep on. The only problem I had with them, is for her age she was already walking and we walked outside in the grassy morning dew and the wetness. They received incredible wear and tear in two months, but she's was using them as breaks in her little car, running in the grass etc.

Robeez, Robeez, Robeez my little boy would always pull his shoes off and someone suggested Robeez and I tried them. Actually my doctor recomended them. She told me that by using hard soled she that babys feet were not able to grow probally so that is what caused them probelms when they got older. She told me to use Robeez. You can buy them at striderite off of Sawmill road. The are a little expensive but worth it!! Also striderite will measure you little ones feet to make sure he is wearing the right size. Sorry to say, there are no shoes that will stay on or other ways to make them stay, short of super glue, and if yours is anyhting like mine are/were that wouldn't help either! I have a 7.5 and 2.5 year old, they both hate shoes! First chance they get they take them off. The oldest we can tell to put his back on and he does, the youngest, he takes them off in the car and before we get him our we're usually putting socks and shoes back on his feet, even if it's only been 5 minutes! My only suggestion is get velcro, that way it doesn't take you too long to get back on him! Works great for my 2 yr old!!!!

you can try robez or stage 2 shoes at stride rite where they con just below the ankle bones and they lace up. Stride rite has awesime sohes, just go in there tell them your problem and they can find the style of shoes that will work best for your situation!

Hi! My 8 month old is EXTREMELY active and also hates anything on his feet. I've found that hi top sneakers or boots[ I found little timberlands that are like his dads that are sooo cute!] work the best. Make sure that they have velcro and not laces, otherwise he unties them and gets them off. But the velcro keeps them tight. We've been able to keep shoes on since we've dicovered this. good luck!

Have you tried the leather slippers they have for babies. There is the name-brand Robeez (kind of pricey, like ($28/pair)which you can find at Stride Rite stores but Carters and Target both have cheaper versions (around $12 last I bought). My niece had Robeez, my daughter had the Target ones and there was no difference (except the price) They stay on really well and are pretty slip resistant. Also they are machine washable and are good for learning to walk since they have soft soles. You can put socks on underneath and they are not easy to pull off, my niece can get anything off except these.

I got a Stride Rite shoes for my daughter when she was about 11 months old, and they work great. She has a pair of walking shoes that are really easy for her to walk in, and they have great ankle support. She usually can't get the laces untied if I double knot them, but she likes to chew on the laces anyway, so I bought lace keepers for her. Lace keepers are the little cylindrical containers with a screw cap on one end that you push the laces into, so kids can't take their shoes off. They had them when I was a kid, and I hadn't seen them since, but I found them at Stride Rite for about $4. They even have bells on them to make it easier to keep track of your very quick child, and they come in white, light pink, and light blue. You can't get them online, but you can get the Stride Rite shoes online. I highly recommend taking your son to a Stride Rite store and having them measure his feet when you are ready for walking shoes. The prices online are much cheaper than in the store, so just find out the size, decide what you want, and then either look at JCPenneys or online to buy them. JCPenneys only has whole sizes, and does not have wides. The cheapest place I found to buy them was at shoebuy.com. If you run a google search for shoebuy.com codes when you are ready to buy, you can get them even cheaper, and if you are a first time buyer you can even use a regular code and the first time buyer code to get it even cheaper. My daughter has only been able to get these shoes off once or twice (with the lace keepers) when I didn't tie them tightly enough. Stride Rite shoes are still pretty expensive, but the walking shoes really do go with any outfit, and they are great for their feet. My daughter has been wearing hers for about 6 weeks, and they barely show any signs of wear, and clean up with a damp cloth. They were definitely worth the money! Good luck!
