Any One Else Having Trouble with Healthy Eating After Pediasure Commercial?

My healthy vegetable eating two year old stopped eating veggies and chicken after watching a Pediasure commercial last week. She has only seen it once, while it aired as my husband and I were watching the news. My pediatrician said that I'm not the only parent that is having this problem. He recommended that anyone that is having trouble with their kids changing eating habits after the commercial aired to contact Pediasure. I know that their products are great products, but I believe they could advertise differently. Address:

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with this? Any recommendations as to how to curb this behavior? It is becoming more of a problem with each day. Everything we pull out to eat, she tells us, "I don't like ....) with the same tone as the little girl on the commercial. It's rather frustrating!

What can I do next?

You know, whenever I see something like that, I see it as am immediate teaching opportunity. If you see it on TV again, maybe you can say something about how "bad" the girl is? Or, that your DD is a good girl because she likes chicken? Just my ideas.

I havent had this problem, but I heard that pediasure is not healthy at all and it has high fructose corn syrup as one of the main ingrediants. I am not sure if that is true, we dont buy it. But if there are issues I would definitely contact the company!
I would just keep just keep offering all healthy things or trick your little one by telling her that the stores dont sell pediasure in your city. When our kids want to eat at wendys (and we dont want to) we tell them that the wendy's is closed for cleaning. They are 5 and 3 and have never objected. it seems cruel, but it works for now!

Kids have picky habits on an off without even having to see a commercial. First explain that isn't a real girl but she is acting and that isn't even her real mommy...writing the company is a good idea but they aren't to blame, kids get picky. As parents all you can do is continue to offer healthy options, don't cook due to just what is their favorites and lessen snacks and treats before meals. You put it in front of her, explain this is what is for dinner and if she chooses not to eat, don't make a big deal out of it. Do not give her anything else and let her know she isn't going to get anything else until she eats it. Many a nights I have put dinner back in the fridge only two hours later having a child come to me hungry, I get the meal back out and tell them they need to eat dinner first then they can have something else. I don't force eating every single bite on their plates but I offer what I offer as a meal and they can eat it or be hungry, period. After a few nights of testing me, they are now at least willing to eat 70% of their meal.
The commercial is pointing out the norm in most kids with healthy food, just keep offering it and she will change her habits a million times. I know my kids eat healthy but what veggies they like changes month to month too. I try and have them choose a few nights a week what I make for dinner, other nights they help with the preparing process and some nights they complain, if they do, they can get down from the table, I am very matter of fact and if they want to eat later, it is in the fridge waiting for them! Good luck..it is normal

This is why my children do not watch commercial TV, just videos and DVDs.

AND if we are watching something as a family like the Broncos, we ALWAYS mute the commercials!
