Any Ideas to Store Clothing for Next Child?

I am struggling with keeping my oldest son’s clothes stored and accessible when it comes to my younger son being ready to use them. I am always missing seasons and sometimes never locating some clothes at all and missing the size entirely. We don’t have closets large enough to hang everything. Any ideas on how to store these clothes so we have them at the right time and right size? I am expecting another boy and this whole issue is just about to start again. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

What can I do next?

Hi A.!
Congrats on your upcoming birth!

I have 2 boys. The system we use is those big rubbermaid (or something similar) plastic tubs with a lid. I have one for each size (newborn/0-3; 3-6 months; 6-9 months; 12 months and on and on). I have them labeled on the sides and top as to what is in there (basically "0-3 summer" and then if there is something specific that needs to be addressed like "size 2 swim diapers" or "batman costume") I a bin for each size all the way up to 4T so far. We are constantly rotating, but it keeps them organized and out of the way when we don't need them. They stack nicely and aren't an eye sore.

I hope this helps.

I have used rubber maid containers labeled in tape with what is in it, from type of clothes to size.
I have also put some of his clothing in the large diaper boxes and labeled them.
Good luck!

A.: ) The first thing our family does is go through all the clothing, we only keep the things we liked, and the things that are necessary to use again. We donate what we don't want to keep, and we store what we want to use for another child. We use plastic storage bins. We label each bin with the season and sizes. We store them stacked in our basement or garage. It is easily accessible that way, and you'll never miss a size or a season. Oh, one more thing...We took "extra special" items and gave them an "heirloom" box. That box is for the items that meant so much to one of our kids, that we want them to have it for their own kids or for their own memories later in life, such as: a first pair of ballet slippers, baptism outfit, special clothes or blanket worn home from the hospital, or just an outfit that defines their babyhood: ) Hope that helps: )

I think those vaccum sealed bags work great and they make things more compact for easy storage. Just a thought!

We use the rubbermaid tote boxes too. Just keep them labeled correctly and they work great.

I agree with Kim R. about the vacuum bags. They take a lot of clothing and flatten to a pancake so it's easy and compact.
