Any Home Teeth Whitening Potions

Does anyone know of any recipes for teeth whitening from home made supplies? I drink way too much coffee and have used many of the retail products. They just don't seem to work very well for the money you spend. Or, more they aren't very user friendly. I thought maybe a home remedy might be more convenient. Thanks

What can I do next?

Back in the 80's, when I wore braces, and before whitening products were accessible on the market, my orthodontist recommended a paste made with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. It really helped me maintain sparkling teeth because I was concerned that wearing my braces for 2 years (with bands around EVERY tooth---even the front ones!)might leave stains. I religiously cleaned my teeth with a waterpick appliance (anyone remember those?) and used the homemade paste. It works wonders! He cautioned against using it more than a couple times a week because the peroxide can damage the tooth enamel. Good luck!

If you gargle peroxide, it works wonders. It says right on the peroxide bottles to use it as a mouthwash- so it is safe :) The longer the better. If you can stand it, gargle it for about 10 minutes (or so) a day. I do it while I'm showering- put it in before I shower, gargle all through my shower and then when I get out, I spit it out and brush! It works great!!

Try brushing with baking soda.

When my teeth get bad I use peroxide as a mouthwash (60-90 seconds). It is really good at killing germs and it whitens also. I've done this for years. It is cheaper too. If you still want good breath then rinse afterwards with a minty mouthwash also. Good luck and God Bless.
