For the 3-yr-old, the classic is to get a baby doll, so she can have her "own" baby. For the biggest sister, anything she'd regard as super special -- let her choose.
I have 2 girls (9 and 3) about to welcome their baby brother into the world in 1 week. Any good ideas on a little gift I can get them for the day?

I'm the "BIG" sister, and I'm the "BIGGER" sister shirts!! :)
Then after the baby comes, take them out one at a time for some one on one "mommy" time. Let them decide.
Perhaps a big sister shirt as someone mentioned and a necklace with big sister charm.
I have the cutest pic of my two boys with big/little brother shirts on in the hospital and then family pictures at 3 weeks.
Good luck!
We did a baby with all the baby gear (Graco brand...super cheap on Black Friday) for our then 2 1/2 year old.
For the 9 year old, I would get a camera (if she doesn't already have one) and a scrapbook kit. Let her feel like she is the historian for baby brother. I've heard that with each kiddo there are less and less pictures.....two birds, one stone?
Congrats!
Anything they have recently been wanting or didn't get for Christmas.
A book for each age about what it means to be a big sister.
Charm bracelet? Baby doll for the three year old? Sister necklaces? Congrats!
My daughter was 8 when her baby brother was born...we gave her earrings with the baby's birthstone.
Big sister tees from Carter's....although, not sure there will be an appropriate size for your 9 yr old. Maybe Oshkosh sells them too??? You can get little man the boy version onesie.
A few weeks after little sister came home, I left the baby with my husband, and took my oldest (who was almost 3 at the time), for lunch and to get our toenails polished. It was something special for JUST her and Mommy to do. She thought it was GREAT, and still talks about it.
Best wishes, and congratulations!
