Liquid form echinacea is the most potent. The best price & quality supplements are from vitacost.com.
Hi Mom's. I wanted to get some suggestions on any over the counter vitamins, supplements or things that can help me build my daughter's immune system. I just feel she gets sick too often and I am hoping some moms can provide me with some guidance. I have seen a few things here and there at Walgreens and stuff but I am not sure if you know of something that you can recommend that actually works. Thanks for your time!

Visit a chiropractor(the kind that cares families for health, not people for back pain, workers comp or car accidents only)- the entire body is controlled by the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) misallignments of the spine will cause interference in that nerve system which can lower immunity and cause a whole host of other problems! Probiotics are also great. Organic food- especially fresh fruit and veggies, good whole grains. Nothing processed. Sugar (all kinds) feeds all infection both bacterial and viral infections so maybe she is just not able to get over something because she keeps feeding the infection. Also antioxidents- there are supplements available (the best are found at health food stores or through a doctor- got ours from D.C.) but foods high in antioxidents are your best bet!
Try to go natural rather then synthetic (which is what multi-vitamins, etc are) and she will do better.
Hope this helps :)
Hello Momma S,
Great info from the moms already posted. I want to second the Juice Plus.... It is simply 17 juiced fruits and vegetalbes and 2 grains. I take it and my kids take it ages 10months, 3, 4, 9. Pretty similar situation but my now 3 year old had food allergies and as you know one gets sick we all get sick its scary and exhausting as a Mom! With in 6 weeks I noticed a big diffrence! It's been almost 3 years we have taken it and my kids DONT get sick. My pediatrician only sees them for wellness check ups. Be careful what you spend your money on that isn't proven to work. What you want to see is that it's bioavailabe....meaning absorbed by the body. Juice Plus has many studies done that are published in medical journals. The kids JP is in a gummie it is yummy! They eat 2 of each a day...it cost 22.75 for a month supply. My other tip for you is make sure your daughter is getting a good amount of sleep! Makes a big diffrence on the immune system to repair and build it's self...! If you want more information or a link let me know. Best of luck!
You are going to laugh at me, but I've heard that playing in dirt can help build up your immune system. Remember making mud pies as a kid? Or playing in the sand box? One time when I was 5 yrs old I fell in a mud puddle while trying to swing on a tire swing that was just a little too high for me. My Mom had to dump warm buckets of water over my head before she could let me in the house (I was a complete mud monster from head to toe). If you have no available dirt pile to play in, how about letting them plant a small garden? Sure you have to wash up when you are finished playing, but dirt is lots of fun!
Hi there.
I have my kids on a great vitamin line that is made for kids. It is a powder that mixes with water. It becomes the same pressure as your blood sweat and tears and is absorbed immediately. It's the best delivery system out there. There is a multi vitamin that tastes like the orange baby asprins or I really reccommend the Ultimate Aloe Juice. The Aloe Juice tastes like a freeze pop so the kids love it. Mine drink it all day long. It's all natural so they will absorb what they need and pee out the rest. Here is a link to both. If you have any questions let me know.

My children take vitamins with Oligo. They absorb 10 times better than leading over the counter brands. Both of my children have strong immune systems due to the vitamins and a great probiotic called Florify. Also I have reduced the chemicals in my home and personal care products that can damage children's immune systems over time. I can get you some more details on safer alternatives just request info at www.LiveTotalWellness.com/texas
You can learn about the vitamins at www.OligoFructoseComplex.com and email me at ____@____.com if you would like to get a 40% discount on ordering them.
Probiotics and Viatmin D. Those are 2 key supplements we ALL should be taking!!!
I second what Michelle said. Melaleuca's vitamins with Oligo are the best. My kids and I don't get sick nearly like we did when we started these vitamins. They are patented also (or pending) so you can't find them anywhere else. The vitamins and supplements at Walgreens (Walmart and Costco too) aren't good at all. You can also go to The Vitamin Shoppe and they carry high quality brands of vitamins for cheaper. You can order online too. Echinacea is good too (watch for allergies with this...), zinc, elderberry, collidal silver works great too. You can also make smoothies with frozen blueberries, raspberries and other fruits too. If you have a juice extractor, juicing fresh oranges or carrots and apples is awesome. You can sneak organic spinach etc. in either the smoothie or juice. Also, watch if your child has food allergies because that can make a difference in your child's immune system. You can find a chiropractor or acupuncture person who does muscle testing for food allergies or ask your doctor to do a blood test to check for food allergies. Good luck to you!!
Chiropractic, vitamins, extra vitamin D drops, probiotics, and yes even a little dirt now and then! And some kids I know get sick right after getting vaccinations, if that's your case and you've noticed, read Dr. Sears' book on vaccination and consider spreading them out more. Good luck!
Yogurt, cook with garlic, unsweetened natural juices, vitamins
I have a book called Super Immunity for Kids (ordered off Amazon) that is all about essential fatty acids. Flaxseed (squeezed from capsule and into milk) and Evening Primrose Oil (rubbed into her skin once a day) has kept my 2 year old healthy since she was 2 months. She's never sick. I recommend getting the book and hitting your GNC store.
