I would talk to your doctor about this. I had alot of anxiety attacks last summer (mainly from a high stress level and my second child - who was 6 mos old at the time - was alot more difficult than the first). My doctor put me on Zoloft and I stayed on it for about 6 months before trying to wean off of it. It took me about 3 or 4 months to get off of it, but it was worth it to not have the anxiety attacks for a while. If you do decide to do the medication, check with your doctor on all side effects before choosing one. I found out after the fact that Zoloft can cause some people to have a difficult time loosing weight, and some even gain while on it. I am not sure if that is true of others in the same class, but it would be worth the time to check into it and avoid frustration later on.

Hi T.,
I know exactly what you are talking about. I actually get some anxiety/panic attacks even in the winter, but they're definitely worse in the heat. My anxiety attacks are so bad when I drive on the highway I have to avoid highway driving. I hate it so much b/c it limits me to where I can drive. I wish I could find someone that understood anxiety attacks so they could help me drive on the highway. I really want to conquer it. My husband tries to understand, but since he's never experienced it he doesn't understand.
Do you take anti-anxiety meds? Please let me know if you hear of something that might help.
I can totally empathize with you.

I completely understand what your talking about. I just went to my GP on Monday and talked to her about this. She diagnosed me with depression and General Anxiety Disorder, and put me on 10mg of Lexapro. I can already see a difference. I would try talking to your dr. and see what they suggest.

Good Luck,
J.

I have had them off and on in the last few years. Mine are usually triggered by a specific thing. Like when I quit my at home job to go into the public workforce after working at home for 10 yrs. I ended up going back to work at home.
When we moved to texas from IL after living in IL all of my life. This was a very good thing for the whole family just a lot of stuff. We had only 4 week to do this move. Put the house up for sale. Find a house here. The actual move. Staying in a hotel for 3 months etc...

Right now I am on paxel because I started getting really bad heart palpatations and thought it was due to anxiety my daughter was going through a lot of things all at once and even though they were good things when there is a lot going on at once in my life that is how it effects me.
Do you stay at home with the children? If you do, please excuse me for saying this but I am trying to help, you have a lot to deal with. besides the bipolar, add, adhd, and aspergers you are dealing with normal teen years also. This has to be very tough. I would get help where ever you could. Paxil might be the answer,

If you feel like your getting better you can always ween yourself off of it.

It can take up to 6 weeks of taking it to have the full affect but it is worth it and you don't feel drugged or anything.
