I had a miscarriage before my son.
At that time, when I was pregnant with my son, we did NOT tell anyone right away.
We waited 3 months.
I just recently had a miscarriage in Feb of this year. Amazingly we are already pregnant again! We are having our parents over for a Memorial Day cookout and are trying to think of a neat way to tell them about this pregnancy. They of course were all very upset over our miscarriage so will be excited about this one. We have a 4 1/2 year old daughter already so I was thinking I should incorporate her someway... any ideas?

Congratulations on your good news!
I think I'd wait the usual 12 weeks before making a big announcement in front of my child, or even until I was showing. The reason being that these losses can be confusing to children, and I've always been very conservative around the children in my life regarding my pregnancies. (I was a nanny when I became pregnant the last two times; the miscarriage would have been confusing for the kids to understand.) I know I am more focused on caution than celebration, and I try to keep the lives of little ones as simple as possible.
I would, however, share with other beloved adults, like parents. If it were me, I'd share this good news discreetly. They will want to support you in this. Congrats again!
How about you get everyone's attention (like a family meeting) and have your daughter make the announcement
I had a pregnancy loss between my 2nd daughter and my 3rd daughter. When we became pregnant after that loss, we waited until we were four months along and by then the pregnancy sort of announced itself since my belly entered the room before I did.
You could get her a big sister t-shirt.
Congrats!
Congrats on being pregnant again! How wonderful!
I have heard of people serving, "baby" food stuff, like baby corn, and things. That would be cute I think. Or go the route of giving them a present with a baby bib that says Grandma and Grandpa on it. They will get the hint lol.
Or just wear a shirt that says "Bun in the oven!"
Have fun with it!
I love A-teams Mommy's idea of having your daughter wear a shirt that says "big sister" on it!!!
We ordered a t-shirt from CafePress that said "I'm going to be a big sister." (they have TONS of cute ones) Another time we put a picture of my daughter in a "big sister" frame and waited for them to notice...which took a while!!! Congratulations!
I love it that you are going to tell them right away! What a lovely gift to them. Of course, I have no idea what to suggest! I wish there was a "like" button for questions! LOL
To announce the second I got a pin for my daughter that said I'm a big sister, then I told her to show Grandma and Grandpa her new pin. They were so excited! I was hoping to wait til she could also show them an ultrasound picture but we couldn't wait that long. Good Luck and Congrats!!!
