Another Tooth Question

So she's finally got a loose tooth! Thank goodness, I'm sick of hearing about being the "only first grader to still have all my baby teeth". (even her cousins that are younger than her have lost at least one so this just upsets her more) and I'm glad this is our BIGGEST drama right now, so I am thankful for that.

Anyway...so looks like going rate is $1 or a dollar gold coin...sounds good. However, what is the purpose of the gold coin? Do you keep it forever?

Do you keep the tooth? Do you keep the first one, then no others?

Help me! I'm so lost with all this. I have no idea what my mother did and I'm sure we lost them all years ago when we lost our home we grew up in to a disaster.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sis is also a card carrying memeber as well. I'm sure she'll want to keep them!

Thank you Leigh...I had no idea! I for one never carry cash, and my co-worker said he gives his girls them and I just wasn't sure.

My son (a card-carrying member of Future Hoarders of America) has written a not to the tooth fairy with every lost tooth, asking if he can keep the tooth, because he is "collecting teeth". LOL

I tease him that someday he can make a necklace for his wife.
He keeps them in his little tooth-shaped box.

p.s. My son has a friend, a 3rd grader, that still has his complete set of baby teeth! :)

I have a few, but I've honestly lost track of which kid they belong to! Every time one is lost, I just toss it in my jewelry box.

The "dollar gold coin" is just a $1.00 coin, not a collector's piece you save. Give her one and let her spend it. We need to get them into circulation anyway!

Sometimes the tooth fairy leaves my daughter $1.00 but sometimes it's something else instead. She loves these little "CrazErasers" that come in fun shapes so last week she got two packs of those worth about $2.00 total. She was tickled and didn't even mention money.

My son got 5 bucks with his first tooth and then a dollar for each tooth afterwards. I am sure I will do the same with my other children as well.
I don't save his teeth though. I started to and then decided yuck, so I threw them away.

I give my kids each a dollar a tooth. I do keep them all but that's just me. I know my parents did not keep any.

This may sound crazy but I have all of my 4 childrens teeth - including the ones that were removed surgically. The are in a box in my dresser drawer - my kids all tease me about it..!!! I never gave them any money for them though - the tooth fairy couldn't keep up!

We always kept the first tooth that fell out and then after that my parents got rid of the rest. My son hasn't lost any teeth yet but his two front teeth are loose and he told me that when they come out he wanted to keep them. I told him that we can write the tooth fairy a note so she will leave it under his pillow but that he can only keep one tooth. Lol! I plan on giving my son a dollar for his tooth and then he can either save up his money and get a big toy or spend it as soon as he gets it and he can get like a hotwheels are something. That is how we r doing it anyways!
