Anyone have a suggestion of where to go for a 2 night get away from kids and Boston (not the Cape)? Looking to relax, nice dinners, some activities (this summer). Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi J. - How about Stowe, VT? I haven't actually been yet but am headed there in July for a wedding and from my research for the trip it seems amazing. There are plenty of outdoor activities during the summer (golf, hiking, canoeing, etc) along with spas and relaxing poolside. There also seem to be good options for dining and enjoying a nice grown-up dinner! Happy planning and happy anniversary! :) A.

I was going to suggest Maine too! Some other ideas: Portsmouth NH.... White Mountains... Lake Winnipesaukee.... Burlington VT... Providence.... Mystic, CT... Northampton MA. There are so many things to do, in cities that are just a few hours' drive away! Heck, I wouldn't even mind spending a weekend in downtown Boston - hitting the restaurants & bars & shows that I don't want to take the kids to! You don't have to go far to have fun.

To make the drive more entertaining, you could put together a playlist on your ipod - or do it up old-school & make a CD! LOL - of some of the songs that were popular when you first got together. Or if there's a book you've both been meaning to read, you could get the book on CD to listen to during the drive.

Kennebunkport is lovely also - a beach to walk, sweet little town, good restaurants, pretty drive past the fancy mansions...romantic!
