My daughter has saved up her money and wants to buy an American Girl doll. I really wanted her to experience actually paying for it at a store but it looks like I will have to buy it online. Does anyone know if there is a store locally (around Rocklin/Sacramento) where we can buy it?

Just a random tip for your dd to spare her pennies some in the future....look on Etsy.com (handcrafted items)....I have bought MANY fun "party dresses" for AG dolls holiday and birthday gifts on there from a few crafters. Very inexpensive...nicely made....and I even got to pick the fabric (I needed 3 that were different for my 3 nieces for christmas).....Just a good place to buy some clothes to fill in around those more expensive AG brand clothes!

I think you can only order them online or at the actual American Girl store. Can you order it and then have her pay you when it comes? She's still paying for it, just not at the store.
BTW..my stepmom orders American Girl Dolls all the time online. She just told me that they have free shipping right now.
