T.S.
I haven't done the lunch but I've done the tea twice and it was so much fun!!! It's "fancy" and the food is darling and yummy :-)
Instead of a gift for Emmy';s 8th birthday this year I offered her a trip to NYC . At first she was torn between a broadway play and American girl but American girl won out when she found out we could bring her cousin (who wouldnt be the play type of kid).
I saw there is afternoon tea and also a lunch. Has anyone been to both and could reccomend which is better for two 8 year olds? It looks like the tea has tons more fun desserts but I didnt know if lunch did too.
Also any somewhat cheap (ha...i know thats alomost impossible-so maybe I should say little things that weren't crazy expensive) things we can do there?
Thanks

We had lunch there and my daughter loved it!!! It was very girly but we had to laugh though when my husband was brought his lunch. (Small portion sizes but presented beautifully). It cost about $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids.
We always go to a show when we are in NYC. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone not being into a broadway show. The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Matilda, Mama Mia, The Blue Man group etc are all a lot of fun and entertaining for everyone.
We've gone twice on outings there for lunch. Never been to tea there. But lunch was adorable!! And the food was good.

Headsup it says their store is undergoing renovations. I'd call and find out if this will affect your trip.
You are right near rockefeller center. you can do the nbc exerpience/top of the rock or see the lego and nintendo stores. there is also the nba store & you can walk to times square.
The NYC store is amazing... I haven't done the tea but have had lunch, Prices weren't as bad as I expected. It's normal food. You can order a milkshake with it for fun. But regular menu. I saw the tea at the next table and it looked more fun. Can't say if the food was good or not or if it gave you enough. But it looked fun and cool. I'd probably opt for that.
Have you gone to yelp (trip advisor or google) to read the reviews? I did that in my area. My daughter is too young (4) to appreciate it, so I will wait a few years.
I am guessing the New York store is amazing.
We took my daughter a month ago to the NYC store. We had lunch there. You get 4 courses with lunch: cinnabun starters, then a plate of veggies and pretzel sticks for the table. Then whatever you ordered for lunch. Then a chocolate mousse and cupcake for dessert. For 4 (2 kids 2 adults) it was about a hundred to eat there. The doll got her own booster seat and was given a fake cup and plate so she could eat too which you get to keep.
The store is absolutely adorable. My daugher was in heaven. I hope your daughter and her cousin love it! It's worth it!
