I use amazon smile. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the charity we choose. I can't think of a better place for extra funds to go.
Mamas & Papas-
For those of you who use amazon, do any of you use amazon smile? Amazon made the suggestion to me recently that I might want to shop through it, and have some % of my purchases go to the charity of my choice. Anyone use it? Anyone with a 501c3 that benefits from it? Should I suggest that DS's school sign up? Is it worth the headache?

I use it, and the charity I chose is St Judes.
Yes I think its worth it. I use amazon smiles and my purchases benefit a cat rescue that I support anyway. Easy to go through amazon smiles as it is to go through amazon and hey free money for my charity. Its a win/win
I use it. I'm our school's treasurer and I created an account this year. It hasn't been highly publicized so we haven't gotten much from it yet, but I intend to push it next year.
As far as ease of seeing it up - it's very easy. It's all automated, so it wouldn't be a headache for your school. If your PTA isn't struggling for funds, they may not want to be bothered with it. But if they do a bunch of fund raiser or have to worry about their budget, it is a good idea.
I use it and it benefits our Girl Scout council. I'll have to look into Mamaduck P's suggestion about the add on to redirect - I don't always remember to go to the smile page vs the regular one.
Definitely use it. You can choose from a variety of charities until your child's school signs up. Our daughter's school parent-teacher group gets proceeds from our purchases. I have no idea how much it has brought in for the school this year, but I'm happy to contribute. I just use the Smile site any time I order and it auto-credits her school. Couldn't be easier! Only difference is that I type in smile first (and my browser autofills the rest of the Amazon address).
I use it and the money goes to my son's elementary school. It's totally worth it since it's free money for the school. There's no headache at all - it takes just a minute or two to enroll. Once you've done that, the only difference is that you go to smile.amazon.com instead of the regular site. sometimes I forget, and a pop up box actually comes up reminding me to go to the smile site instead. It's awesome.
You can also enroll your Target Red Card to give back to the school. Kroger/Ralph's grocery store gives to schools too.
Absolutely. And I switch back and forth between the church and the school. Our ES just finished up their paperwork and it didn't seem too onerous. Now we'll start getting checks when people shop through our link.
I use it regularly with the donations going my son's elementary school. I think the registration for the school/PTA organization is fairly simple. If you shop a lot with Amazon, it makes sense.
One thing I will recommend is to install the Smile Redirect add-on for your web browser. This way, when you go to Amazon to shop, the add-on automatically redirects you to Amazon smile without you having to go to the actual Smile page.
Yes, I always use Amazon Smile when I shop there. There's no difference for me in my shopping experience, but our ballet studio gets a donation every time, which is great!
It is very easy to use and they have a full list of charities that can benefit from it. You sign in and say you want to use Amazon Smiles. It does download something, maybe a cookie, to your computer so that the next time you go to Amazon.com, it reminds you and asks if you would like to go to Amazon Smiles. The percent is pretty small but when you think of all the users and buyers it really adds up. I have used it for over a year so far. My charity is Hemophilia Foundation of IL.
Never heard of it. Will use it for sure. I am a big Amazon shopper.
