Amazon Prime Membership and Kindle Fire?

Our kids got Kindle Fire's for Christmas. When I set them up, I opted for the free month of Amazon Prime. I know my mom has it because we I order things, I normally order through her account to get the free two day shipping.

But...if I don't get it, will my kids lose the option to stream free movies and shows? Is that because of Prime or is that just because they are part of Amazon?

What can I do next?

Yes, if you don't get Prime you will lose the free movies. You might be able to link your kids Fires to you Mom's account, but you would have to log on to her account to manage any content on their Fires.

I have a Fire and Prime, but don't use the free movies too much at this point since I mainly surf & read on it. I have Prime for the free 2 day shipping, not movies.

Take a look through the "store" and see where it says "Prime". We have the Kindle Fire and have the free month. I know that we will extend it because my son likes to watch shows and I like to download from their "free" lending library, which is much bigger with the Prime membership. Considering that each show and book is pretty pricey, my husband did some quick math and it ends up being cheaper to have the membership than pay "by the item".

Remember too that your local library may have a ton of books and movies to be downloaded for free! We signed up for that and have been "checking out" tons of Kindle-friendly books!

i don't know the direct answer. But we have 2 basic kindles and an ipad kindle reader. You can link up to 5 kindles to one account. I don't know if this is really kosher, but can you link to your mom's account and maybe chip in??
