Hi Moms,

I get horrible stains on my shirts from sweating which at first I thought I had a thyroid issue since my underarms were always wet even if I was not working out, but after switching deodorants many times and finally getting tested found that neither were the solution. After going through a more in-depth family history through my both sides, I mentioned that grandma said her doctors believed her aluminum deodorant could have sped her cancer activeness and hostel take over along (passed away after years of battling it) and my grandfather suffered from Alzheimer. The doctor then mentioned that aluminum can react with certain sweat and cause the shirt to discolor among other health issues (but not much testing/research has been done about it to know for sure) and I should try to find some aluminum free deodorant. So I went on a search for aluminum free deodorant at Walmart and only found Tom's of Maine all natural Deodorant. I have only used it a week but have seen a difference and my armpits that seemed to always be wet even with deodorant are no longer wet, curious. Anyway I was wondering if any of you mom's have come across other brands that are aluminum free AND can be found in a store (I do not buy things online)?

Thank you for your responses! I look forward to seeing what others have found and/or use. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks moms.... I have been trying out various different aluminum free deodorants... still have not found something that works super well and with summer it will really put them all to the test.

You should be able to find aluminum free deodorant in Whole Foods, the Sunflower Market, or Trader Joe's. I am surprised you found Toms at Walmart, I don't believe I have seen it there in my town.

Suave MEN, it's mens deodorant but it does not contain the aluminum. Watch the wording close: some have aluminum but don't use the actual 'word' aluminum in the active ingredients; such as GLY, GLY anhydrous, zirconium trichlorohydrex, zirconium pentachlorohydrex.

There are crystal based roll-on deodorants that are paraben, alumniumpropylen glycol and alocohol free. I buy something called Lafes Natural and Organic deodorant from Whole Foods. There used to be a brand called "Crystal" in CVS and Walgreen stores, but don't find them any more. They are effective and odor free and colorless.

Adding to what Rani said I also use "Crystal" which is a natural mineral salt and is readily available ... I get mine at a health food store Chamberlains.
