My son's were like that too. Somehow it's better now that he's 4. I used to put Dove deodorant on his feet. Helped with the sweating and odor!
My almost 3 year old son has always had problems with stinky feet (so does his daddy). I have tried washing his shoes, to no avail. Even after I wash his feet the odor is still there. He wears sandals because when he wears socks and tennies his feet sweat so bad and it smells even worse. I don't know what to do about this odor! Help

I heard on Dr. Oz about putting "Scope" or other Mouth Washes on stinky feet, and in between toes. We tried it on my 13 year-old grandson, and, amazingly, it worked!! He only has done it 2 or 3 times and seems to be cured!!
I have heard that soaking the offending feet in a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide & water solution for 10 minutes per week. This is supposed to get rid of the nasty things that cause the stink. It should work for Dad too. cb
If he's in anything other the 100% cotton, and has a tendency to sweat, you're garantied stinkers...Make sure, if you get him tennis shoes, that they are leather upper and cotton inside. Natural fibers breathe and absorb better. For odors in existing things or to help with the sweating, baking soda really works, and it's cheap!
You should definitely make sure they (your hubby AND son) don't have a fungus or athletes foot (it's really contagious, easy to catch but fairly easy to treat) that can be a cause for the smell too...
Good luck!
If the shoes are synthetic materials, it will be worse. There are things called Stinky Pinkies to help the shoes....
There are a couple of things you can try. Soak his feet in tea every night for 10 minutes if that doesn't work you can soak his feet in vinegar and water mixture for 10 minutes every night. 1 part vinegar to 2 part water.
My 1.5 year old daughter has the same problem. We refer to taking her shoes off as "releasing the beasts". Her pediatrician recommended washing her shoes often, which I do in Tide w/Febreze, and deodorant on her feet. I wanted to make sure I used something natural since she's so young, so I bought some Tom's deodorant and it helps a lot. We wash her feet with wipes whenever we remove her shoes or put them on and put the deodorant on before everytime socks or shoes, sometimes a few times a day. I just hope she grows out of it before puberty. Her dad wants it to stay forever, but he also doesn't want her to date until she's 49. Good luck!
We had this same issue with our 18 month old girl. Her feet would smell really bad at the end of the day and even after her bath, the odor wouldn't fully leave. It was so bad that once when we were driving she removed her shoes and the whole car stank. We had to roll down the windows to get some air.
My husband cleaned out her shoes and we started putting baby powder (with cornstarch) in there and we haven't had any more issues with smelly feet. When she wears sandles, we'll rub some of the powder on the bottoms of her feet and then put on her shoes. It seems to be working great so far. We keep a small travel size container by the door where we keep the shoes so we never forget to use it. It could be worth a try.
hi, have you tried like powders..it can be baby powder or baking soda.. or goldbond anything that could subside his sweating which leads to the smells...wash his feet..pat them til there nice and dry then powder his feet and a little powder in each sock and try it out!
lemon juice scrub his feet with lemons everynight for two night and smell the miracle results it will be gone guarantee. but buy new shoes after the cleanse.
My daughter has this problem and so do I for that matter. The only thing that has helped is odor eater powder on her feet and in the shoes. I tried baking soda but it didn't help and it irritated her skin for some reason.
