Allergies Worse in August

Hi, last week my allergies really started bothering me (stuffed up nose, sore throat). This is only the 2nd year I've lived in Tampa and I seem to remember being sick the whole month of August last year. Does anyone know what could be blooming all the sudden that would cause this? Or have any recommendations for making it go away? Thanks.

What can I do next?

NeilMed Sinus rinse! You can find them in Publix, Walmart, Walgreens and other places I'm sure. It's about $10 for the rinse bottle and 50 packets of saline solution. It literally washes all the junk from the sinus cavity, Read the whole direction packet then remember to do both nostrils. It will feel weird at first but sooo worth it. I am a sinus sufferer as are my hubby and oldest son. My oldest son was on no less than 5 antibiiotics between the end of last year and beginning of this one, started the sinus rinse, bye bye sinus infections :)

It may not be anything in bloom. This is the height of our rainy season so it could be mold.

Saline rinses, Zicam, staying away from dairy (produces more mucus), drinking lots of fluids.
Anti-histamines.

Seeing an allergist or an acupuncturist can be helpful too.

Drink lots of water, and apple cider helps- I use the Zeiglers at Publix or Sweetbay,
go for a nutritional workup- natural antihistimines- don't do the grugs in the long run makes it worse.K

I have two recommendations that will hopefully help you. The first is local honey. If you buy honey that is local and eat it foods, tea, or whatever else you can think of, honey will help you build up immunity to the local pollen. Second is MSM - Methylsulphonylmethane. This is a nautural food supplement that you get at a Natural food store. I have been taking his for 8 years and it has helped no matter where I live. The important this about MSM is to only buy the good stuff that is close to 100% pure. If you don't, it won't work, it is that simple. I have found the brand NOW to work for me. You can buy the tablets, capsules or powder. Powder is the cheapest and I just mix it in my tea (add honey!) and drink it every morning. Start with a small amount of it to build your body up to it. I would do computer research on it (I did) and see exactly what it is, how it helps and how much to take. I also bought the book "The Miracle of MSM" and it explained everything I wanted to know. I hope this helps. Good Luck

I remember when I was a kid;
there was something blooming
EVERY MONTH of the year
to which I had reactions.

As a child I was drugged for the allergies.
Now I'm more proactive
(though there are occasional times
that I'll still use a benadryl).

Consuming local honey is a helpful rural relief.
With no side effects and easier, in my opinion,
is the use of a neti pot.
