if you think he has allergies, you should have him tested by an allergist. they can prescribe other meds.

Is he itchy?
Is he sneezing?
Is he wheezing?
Is he coughing?
Is he rubbing his eyes?
Has he been diagnosed w/allergies?
or are you assuming he's allergic?
Do you know what he's allergic to?
Have you removed that/those from his environment?
You could try Benadryl or it's generic, but that might make him drowsy.
