It sounds like he may have the dyshidrotic form of eczema http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema
I don't know at what age it's safe to start using it. But I've found that Band-Aid Liquid bandaid to be the best at protecting the affected areas during healing if the bubbles are bothersome.(itchy, painful)
Does it hurt to scratch and pop the little spots? Eczema...my left hand is breaking out, too.
That is eczema.
How old is your son? If he is an infant most likely the eczema is caused by a food allergy, or contact chemical/fragrance allergy...
If he is older Cortaid applied to the finger should clear it up.
hi -
if it is eczema then you may want to explore the cause (many times like Kristi A mentioned it could be triggered by a food of chemical response).
also as an fyi about 5 years ago i got a cut on the top of my thumb. I am constantly washing my hands sometimes up to 20x a day (i work in healthcare), so it was difficult to continually change Band-Aids. Therefore I used liquid Band-Aid on my cut, but it became infected. the doctor told me i should not use liquid Band-Aid because it can trap germs.
hope his skin heals soon.
Sounds like a form of eczema to me. What works best for my family with that is Renew lotion and Renew body wash. When tested against other popular lotions, including Eucerin, Renew won hands, and other body parts, down! I can help you get a sample for you to try, just e-mail me
Eczema. Get cortisone-over the counter.
