I have a 1 year and he drinks out of a cup but I have a huge problem. When he sleeps or lay down the milk spills everywhere and he soaks up his crib. I am constantly washing his sheets and everything else he done spilled milk on. I have used all kinds of cups and they always seem to spill. What can I do?

What can I do next?

Use PLAYTEX sippy cups they are more expensive, but worth it. I am using them with my 8 month old and they do not leak by any means. I put his milk in there when its snacktime, I put juice in there and everything and it does not leak. Good luck Christy with the playtex sippy cup. By the way, laying down with a drink does not hurt a thing and has not hurt my 4 sibblings or my two children. You do what you want and how you want, all mommies are different and all know what is best for THEIR child.

I would give him the milk before you lay him down. A friend of mine's child was in the habit of going to sleep with a sippy cup of milk....now he has a mouth full of cavities. The Ped. said it's b/c of the sugar in milk and not to lay them down with milk to drink.

Good luck!

my ped. always told me a child should never lie down with milk, juice, or etc. it can cause ear infections and tooth decay. i had my child to finish her drink - then lie down.

I agree totally re: the laying down with the milk or any other drink for that matter.
The sippy cup that's awesome is called "NUBY". They're cheap and really work great. No spilling!!
We like them and so does our 2 year old son.
The less mess the better, right?
