Besides the food banks, you could try Angel Food Ministries. Check http://angelfoodministries.com/ for locations. It is a great value and anyone can do it. You do not have to qualify. My husband has said some of the meats are the best he's ever had! So it is first quality food.

Have you talked with the Atlanta Community Food Bank? Even if they are not close by they are a good resource for other partner agencies and resources in in Georgia.

http://www.acfb.org/

At the bottom of their home page they recommend calling the United Way and list their numbers:

(Dial 2-1-1 or, if you are outside metro Atlanta, call ###-###-####)

You are smart, brave and wonderful mom to seek assistance when your family needs it.

Good luck, this economic crisis won't last forever.

The Angel Food Ministry is at my church, The Atlanta Church of Christ at Cobb
285 Victory Drive
Marietta, GA

Here is the website for the chruch- www.acocatcobb.org

There you will find a link called Benevolence Programs. The pick up dates are listed, as well as the Angel Food website to view the menu. The meals are usualy $30 and you receive a lot of meat. It is a great deal and it is once a month.
