Hi Everyone,
Could someone recommend an OBGYN practice that is all female? Preferably one affiliated with Northwestern and/or within a mile or two of downtown?
Thanks!

I go to a group of doctors at Northwestern. Some of the female doctors broke off from the group and started their own practice last year. Dr. Mazzulo and Dr. Norlin (I think) are the only names I can remember. Although they were not my primary OB, they did do my C-section in 2006 when I was not progressing with my induction. I was very happy with them and thought they did a good job. They are still affiliated with Northwestern and their office is close to the hospital from what I was told. You can probably find them by calling information or the physician finder number for Northwestern.
HI,
My OBGYN is Dr. Rita McGuire,M.D. She's located at 2315 E. 93rd street suite 224 Chicago,IL 60617 her nummber ###-###-####. I do not know if she is affilated with Northwestern but her office can let you know.
I see Dr. Ericson and she is great.
I go to Illinois Masonic (Halsted/Wellington) - all women in the group. I've had a very good experience with them. My primary OBGYN is Dr. Melissa Dennis.
The Women's Group of Northwestern is an all female practice located at Michigan and Chicago.
I go to Lakeshore Women's Center with Dr. Rose Diakos, Dr. Barbara Diakos and Dr. Maria Tam. They are all wonderful and they are affiliated with Northwestern. What was even better for me is that they are located at Sheridan and Diversey, so I didn't have to trek down to Northwestern every month for my appt. Due to an insurance change, I ended up delivering at St. Joseph's (a block away from their office), where I had EXCELLENT care and lots of attention. These wonderful doctors are affiliated with both Northwestern and St. Joseph.
Hi,
I work at Chicago Women's Health Center (3435 N. Sheffield). Its a feminist women's collective that specializes in reproductive health. We've been around for over 30 years and we've got the best paps in town. A sensitive environment with 30-45 minute visits instead of your 15 minute quickie. I was a client for years and decided to get on board because I loved the place so much. We also have a lot of holistic/organic options for treatment and/or menstrual products. Try us! ###-###-####
The women's group at Northwestern is awesome.

I like the doctors there and I have been seen by Dr Mia Norlin and Dr Lisa Mazzullo. However, there are other doctors on staff. Visit their website for more info, but the doctors have great bedside manner and personable and knowledgeable. My son would not be here without them.
Another one for The Women's Practice (737 N. Michigan, Suite 950). My primary doctor is Mia Norlin, but Lisa Mazzullo delivered my son (when both were members of their prior practice). They are wonderful people as well as doctors. I work in the loop and it has been so convenient to have a dr. that I can easily get back and forth to. Especially with all of the appts. while pregnant. Good luck in your search.
Women's Group of Northwestern is awesome. They have an office on Michigan Ave - all doctors deliver at Northwestern/Prentice Women's Hosp. I just had a baby & went there for the whole pregnancy. Love each of the doctors & the nurse practitioners are great too.
I love the Women's Group of Northwestern. They're located at 737 N. Michigan Ave., suite 600, chicago, ###-###-####. They are an amazing group of women doctors and nurse practitioners!

I go to the Women's Group of Northwestern. I love that group! I would see Dr. Lindner, or Dr. Murthy. They are all great there, but they are two of my favorites. http://www.womenobgyn.net/
The womens Group of Northwestern, I delivered with them at Prentice, I used Dr. Julie Levitt, 680 Lake Shore Dr. ###-###-####. Loved the practice!
This practice is great! The Women's Group of Northwestern.
Another vote for the women's group. Dr. Ericson (who wasn't my main doc, but delivered my son) saved my son's life --- he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 3 times! I saw almost all of the doctors there during my pregnancy and really liked Katz and Levin. The only dr there that I wouldn't recommend is Dr. Lui. I'm sure she is a fine doctor, but she communicated some very critical information regarding my pregnancy VERY poorly - causing both my husband and I much distress.
The only other thing I would mention is that they are no longer in the 680 building but are now on Michigan.
Try NYE Partners. They are all women, and I love Dr. Ray. They are can deliver at Prentice and at Rush. They have 2 offices, one down town at 625 N. Michigan Suite 210 right next to the Coach store and across the St from Ann Taylor and the other one is at Rush. 1725 W. Harrison St, Ste 845. They are great!
Northwestern Women's Group - Elaine Kamel, MD., Anita Levitt, MD - exceptional practice
Lakeview pediatrics is amazing...located near Belmont/Ashland/Lincoln six-way.
Dr. Shaw is fantastic. She is with the Northwestern Group; her office is at 680 N. Lake Shore (Playboy Building).
There are about 10 or so doctors in that office, and only one is a male.

2800 N Sheridan - Dr. Rose & Barb Diakos (sisters) & Dr. Tam - Wonderful and affiliated with Northwestern.
For both my pregnancies, I saw Dr. Buscher at The Women's Practice. All the ob/gyns are female, with female nurse practitioners and staff. They now have ultrasound onsite. Contact info is:

Good luck!
Northwestern Women's Group (seems a lot of people are suggesting this practice; please be advised that their address has changed, they are now at Michigan and Chicago
above Neiman Marcus)
My practice has 4 docs, 3 of them women, so that is pretty close! It is Progressive Care for Women, they are located downtown on St. Claire and are affiliated with Northwestern. Ironically, the doc I see there is Dr. Chen, the only male at the practice, and he is great. He delivered my daughter 2 years ago and it was a terrific experience. As a part of my prenatal care, I also saw the other docs (the women) for check-ups, and they are all wonderful. They have been recognized as among the top OB/GYNs in the country. Check out their website at www.pc4w.com. Hope this helps!
Anita Levin at Northwestern Women's practice.
All women.
I have met several of the doctors and found all to be fantastic. Anita Levin and Elena Kamel are off the charts - just outstanding.
There is a group all female, affiliated with Northwestern Memorial.
they are in a office in the 680Lake Shore drive.I can't remember the name of the office, but DR, Kamel is one of the MD. in the group. If you call NMW and ask for her and her group, they would know who to contact.
Obstetric and Gynecologic Specialists of Northwestern, they are located at 680 N. Lakeshore Dr. Ste. 117, ###-###-####. Dr. Shari Goldman is great!
I also go to PC4W as Laura D mentioned. Only 1 male (Dr. Chen)in the bunch. I was adamant about having a female doctor. However, I did see Dr. Chen as part of my normal check ups. They have you see all the docs during preganancy in case your doc is unavailable for some reason. As a rule I HATE male doctors. All my docs are female including my dentist. BUT I highly recommend Dr. Chen and would have no hesitation about him delivering my baby. He has a GREAT bedside manner which is unusual in male docs. So even though this group is not ALL female. I would recommend them. They are associated with Northwestern and use Prentice hospital for their deliveries.
