Hi Moms! I've decided that my daughter needs an alarm clock, since we struggle with wake up time in the morning. I'd like one that has a good night light as well, because I've been having to leave her light on at night. I would kind of like to have one that plays nature sounds, but am having trouble finding one that has nature sounds, and a nightlight, and would be easy to use for a 4yr old girl.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality one for a reasonable price (less than $40)?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I was seriously looking at the Homedics, but then I saw the "My Tot Clock" that Workinmom mentioned... It has EVERYTHING! I ordered it tonight & am sure that my daughter will love it. A mom invented it & I have to support other moms. ;-) I also found a 10% off code for their website: www.mytotclock.com Key code: MTCMB10 (good thru 11/15/10).

My daughter has a Sleeping Beauty (or Cinderella) Castle alarm clock - it plays princess music - not nature sounds, and has a night light that puts stars on the ceiling....she loves it - and it is easy for her to use, of course I have to set the alarm and stuff, but she knows how to work it....I think she was about 5 when she got it..... I am not sure how much it was because it was a gift, but I wouldn't think it would be more than $40.

We have the Homemedics one too and it's really easy to use, but there isn't really a nightlight on it. Also, good for you for giving her the responsibility to use it. So often we underestimate our kids when they really can do lot on their own.

See if you can get a biobrite used (retails for about $80) -- light winds down at bedtime, up at waketime 30 min or so.

I have had one for years by Homedics..
It has 6 different nature sounds, has a radio, has the alarm and has a lens that stays lit all of the time to show the time on the wall or the ceiling.. it is bright enough to be like a nightlight..

I see them on sale all of the time.

I love my iHome. You could put nature sounds on an iPod to play and it has a gentle wake up where the volume gets louder and louder. The display can be pretty bright too.

Just found this too - http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId...

I am looking for one to tell my son when he needs to go back to sleep and found this one too...I think this is the one I'm getting. http://www.mytotclock.com/features.php
