Just for safety, I would take the camera in the carryon luggage and keep the card in your purse so it does not go through the x-ray. They will usually let you take it out (they did for my sister-in-law a few months ago). There are special rules for baby formula exempting the forbidden items. Southwest Airlines has a great guide on thier website stating what can be taken on and what can;t. I think Southwest is also the most lenient when it comes to carry-on also.

I just flew South West. I have a 7 month old and I nurse. I was allowed to bring as many bottles as I wanted/needed. They check the milk to confirm it is not dangerous. If you have baby, you can bring what you need for him. I also brought home made fruit and veggies, since we do not give my son baby food. I was not questioned on that.

South west allows you to have a stroller For the baby, and 2 checked bags and 2 caryon bags ( 1 small & one larger) per ticketed passenger. You can supplement 1 checked back for 2 baby items, like the car seat & pak n play. You will need to check with the airlines that youre flying with, for thier specific rules.

We brought our digital camera in ou caryon bags. We still have the car seat/stroller combo. We only had 23 checked bags, so the car seat was our extra one. We did not purchase a ticket for our son.

All liquids need to be less than 3oz and in a 1 quart clear zip lock bag. We did not put the babies milk in clear zip lock bag, I think that is more for the personal items for you.

Hope this helps. :) have a great travel.

I'm would google it to find the correct regulations. I would hate to give you wrong information. I don't think it would be a problem to feed your child on your lap. By the way, I think most airlines charge $15 per suitcase now just to check it in. Have a nice trip.

Hi MH

I think they change their regulations each time that i fly!
I found the easiest thing was to buy the single packs of formula and buy water at the airport. Or i bought juice/milk at the airport. Each airport that i went through would tell me that i could/couldnt do things. I found this to be the easiest everywhere.

I've attached TSA's regulations for airport security. You can go through the list on any subject regarding what is allowed. I know this may sound crazy but, keep in mind, 3 ounces of shampoo in a 6 ounce bottle is still going to be confiscated! Watch the size of your containers. If you are carrying liquids (i.e. bottle of wine, baby wash, extra conditioner or sunscreen, etc...) you can check your bag and it will not be a concern.

Any electronics will need to be removed from their bag and placed in a security bin. That includes, phones, cameras, laptops, even kid's handheld games. Wear easy-on/easy-off shoes as they will ask you to remove them.

Your car seat may fit right in the seat on the plane or it may not. It may be worth the try; Generally, your stroller can be taken up to the door of the plane. As far as luggage limit, google the specific airline. Generally, people with small children travel with more stuff.

The MOST important thing that you can do is give yourself, AT LEAST two hours, before your flight departs, especially if you are not familiar with all the proceedings. If someone can drop you off at the departure door, at the airport, (especially if at MIDWAY!), your life will be sooo much easier, otherwise, you will have to park a car, unload, board a bus, unload... etc... you get the picture.

Stay calm. Ask for help. If you, by chance, are going on Southwest Airlines, remember that you can pull a boarding pass EXACTLY 24 hours (do not wait a minute longer to start trying!!!) in advance, online. This will benefit you because Southwest no longer has pre-board privileges for people with young children so you will want to get the best possible boarding number you can.
